Wilds killed any interest in the series I had, which is saying a lot because Monster Hunter was my favourite franchise before playing Wilds. World and Rise had their problems but I still managed to enjoy them, and compared to most garbage released today they were still good. I couldn't even bring myself to finish the Village story in Wilds. Hopefully they change things up in the next release, otherwise it looks like I'll be playing GU for the rest of my life.

Every streamlining feature was carried over, they added an equivalent to the dog from Rise so you can run circles around the monster while using items, hitting a monster in the same spot like 4 times will put a weak spot that you can instantly destroy to knock the monster down constantly, the game will start automatically walking you towards wherever the monster is at the start of a hunt or whenever you get on the mount unless you turn that off in the menu, supply items get delivered directly into the bag on your mount during hunts every few minutes

That's really the opposite of Monster Hunter's vision. MonHun is meant to be a hunter simulator, and as such it involves parts that aren't instant gratification. A hunter prepares, there's time to be doing gathering quests to stock up, needs to track and chase monsters and so on.
