For me its better because they remove a lot of the "no fun allowed" elements of FO.
The Force also becomes actually useful, and you can reach a point where you can pretty much dominate any amount of enemies with the Force.
Enemies are also way less hit sponges.

Survivor's problem is it came out with a broken optimization, which got mostly fixed when they removed Denuvo.

Plus Cal is less of a whiny kid and more of a weary war veteran.

Gameplay is a big improvement and feels more refined overall. The new stances are a great addition as well.

Star Wars was like a Game of Thrones moment for me. I was a super fan of the old legends EU, with hundreds of books and comics and every vidya under the sun. After the movies, any and all interest in the entire IP was utterly killed, so far as i am not even mad or angry anymore. I look at a Kotor remake, a thing that would hype me to no end and just nothing but apathy. I even bought jedi survivor some 2 years ago and didnt bother playing it till now. This was me and 40k with nu-marines. Among the main books I'd say the ones that are bad are Dark Empire (the original somehow Palpatine has returned) and Legacy of the Force, which is just pure character assassination for Jacen Solo and Tahiri Veila and retcons a ton of shit from NJO. Amy Hennig's game got cancelled like 5 years ago now. Star Wars Eclipse might never release (the devs even said 2027 at the earliest and apparently development has been struggling since the announcement). Total War Star Wars has never been confirmed to even exist to my knowledge, only vague rumors last year that never got substantiated. The KotOR remake has been cancelled a few times and should stay that way. The Respawn strategy game is Zero Company. Jedi 3 hopefully happens, but the guy who directed both previous games left the company last year.
