> Devil Spire Falls
Someone reccomended it earlier and I just wanna ask, are they planning on improving the art or is this it?
>Noo but it's all oldschool and stuff-
Nah this just looks like how modern people misunderstand old vidya, it can keep the crusty look but it needs more derail and nicer textures

I want a point n click game that circumvents the
>You can't use hammer on glass
>You can't use explosives on glass
>You can't use bat on glass
meme issue by letting you solve various problems with different solutions and which one you choose affects the game going forward and sets you on a different route or results in different outcomes
I'm shocked such a thing doesn't exist yet, it's 2027 come on game devs!

StarVaders is easily the best deckbuilder roguelike in years about defeating an alien invasion with giant mechs which have entirely different playstyles. It has a grid movement mechanic that makes it akin to turn-based Space Invaders/bullet hell game with card combos.

Game where you can only communicate through selling people different types of shaved ice.
If you buy this you will get exactly what you are expecting, it's reasonably short too.

art looks cool as hell
however the >drug allegory thing is putting me off
the character designs and they way they talk do as well, the environments are downright beautiful but the rest is so offputting
Anonymous No.718847082
>>718846921
I find that surrealism created as a metaphor for or under the implication of drug usage tends to be very boring, it's the most mundane of "weird" imagery with nothing actually strange or fun or surreal to them and no intent behind it besides being like, weeeeeird dude, that's it

It's impressive these games are actually made by one guy
Not even like, "one guy" as in he's the head dev on a team or anything, but actually one whole dude
I love his style and I see why he works alone, he's very true to his vision

His other games are about different stuff, although from memory I think the Lotus Holiday also has some drugs causing extra surrealism.

psychopomp is the first modern game ive seen about uncovering weird conspiracies and esoteric occult ideas that some people might describe as "schizo-core" but doesn't have that disingenuous "theehee i'm soooo cwazy-wazy so epic schizo so quirky-wuirky haha ooooo looks-a-me" pop-/x/ feel to it, it doesn't come off like it's made by a girly who watched some Gravity Falls and thinks drawing triangles with eyes and pretending to believe in aliens (but will actually pop a xanax and call the police on you if you bring up actual conspiracy theories) makes her special... It comes off like the dev actually genuinely likes this sorta stuff, like it comes from the heart, fully sincere

Also the art looks cool
it's kinda oatmealy but not really

Mechabellum should get so much more love. Its like autochess+rts where you and the opponent each get some dosh each round and put down units. You can see what they are doing til the round starts. You end up with huge battles all about rock paper scissors interactions, predicting your opponent’s moves, and building up some bullshit teched up robot army. It should have been a huge hit for how good it is

hey, i mean
the systems are there
many highly abstracted frameworks for sandbox games do that i.e. DF, where each tool can be assigned tool quality, and each material can be assigned a resistance to a kind of tool.
point and click games don't exist to create turbulent worlds though, they exist to tell a story, and stories tend to be pretty linear

A list of shit I've been playing/finished recently:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3362040/Cell_Command/
Fun little roguelite where every run is comprised of little strategy matches trying to kill the enemy. Not unlike FE in some ways, if I had to compare it (but there isn't permadeath).
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1897650/Dream_Tactics/
Also pretty FE-like, an SRPG with deckbuilding that lets you build your character pretty freely. You don't have a lot of control over stats, but the items you get can be pretty strat-changing and you can swap their cards between characters to get some stupid combos. Definite recommend, I really enjoyed this one.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3743220/A_Solitaire_Mystery/
Baba is You guy made a shitload of different Solitaires and I'm far too retarded to even understand half of them but that's half the fun. Considering how big Baba is You got I'm surprised this had so little fanfare.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/473530/Slimesan_Superslime_Edition/
Obligatory Slime-san mention. Game never gets enough love.
I fucking love indies, bros.
