I suck at video games
I have to play every game on Easy or Very Easy mode. Normal mode in most games is a challenge for me, Hard or Very Hard are difficulties so daunting I couldn't even imagine playing them.

And no, I'm not even playing games that are known for being hard. I play RPGs (both western and eastern, turn-based or action), platformers, Nintendo games, Sony cinematic games. I just suck at fucking all of them. And I have rage issues that cause me to start swearing, shouting, and pounding the nearest flat surface whenever I die or get stuck on something.

There are certain genres of games I just can't play at all. I tried simulation/strategy games (eg. Crusader Kings, Civilization) many times and I just find them so confusing I can't even begin to know how to win. Soulslikes, or anything with Souls-ish elements (eg. Hollow Knight) are completely off the table for me because I know I will die 1000+ times and will end up trashing an entire room out of pure rage.

Am I the only one who is like this? All the time on the internet I'm seeing people who are masters at every video game and just tell you to "git gud" if you suck. Every time a new game releases, people demand it is "too easy" and should be made harder, meanwhile I find those games really hard even as they are.

I feel like the only person who has been playing games his entire life and yet still sucks.

You're doing it right-er than people who become competitive at videogames. They are tailored with casual gameplay in mind, the moment you tryhard you turn the game inadequate - or, better yet, you become inadequate yourself.

You are literally retarded. Get an IQ test. Not even trying to be mean about it but if you struggle with Mario and Pokemon then you gotta get checked out man.

What do you actually get out of video games if you're so bad that most games are a slog for you?

>Pokemon
I don't struggle with Pokemon, actually. That's one of the few games where its easy enough I can play it with basically no difficulty.

In Pokemon I can just overlevel my mons and it makes the game pretty simple. I usually look up the gym leader's highest level Pokemon and level my whole team to be at least a couple levels above that.

I will say though, the gym leader rematches in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl made me fucking rage hard. They were all EV-trained apparently, and even with overleveling I kept getting wrecked.

>Mario
Now MARIO on the other hand, his games are actually fucking hard.

Sunshine is the obvious one there. I have horrifying memories as a child of playing the FLUDD-less levels and just screaming at the top of my lungs from anger due to how much I was dying. I wouldn't be any better at those levels even today.

Mario 64 also makes me rage due to how easy it is to fall off into pits or miss jumps. And I can't time the Bowser-throws in the boss sections AT ALL.

But the hardest Mario games for me are any of the 2D ones. I just simply cannot play them, not even at a basic level. Last year I tried to play New Super Mario Bros U. I lost all my lives in world 2 and game overed. It's just too fucking hard. The platforming is too precise, there are too many enemies to avoid, and the cost of losing lives is too punishing.

I know OP is a shitpost, but holy shit you bring up a good point. Imagine someone who genuinely thinks like this being in your ranked game. That sounds like mental torture for a match that typically takes 30-40 minutes assuming you don't open GG.

Anon you might unironically be mentally and emotionally handicapped.

Mario Sunshine is just a shit game period. I know some people will go to bat to defend it, but the amount of dev time it had really shows when doing levels like the pachinko and as you said Fludd-less levels.

Mario 64 at least is fun, and you can watch some of the many speedrunners to get a grip on movement, what you're supposed to do, etc. The game lets you finish it at 70 stars, way less with glitches, so you don't have to worry about mastering every single thing about the game either.

I actually fell out of playing games for a LONG time because of how bad I was. Around the ages of 15-23 I just gave up trying to beat most games because I felt I was too bad to finish any of them. I was also forced to play shitty multiplayer games like Dota and Overwatch with my IRL friends, and I was ABYSMALLY fucking bad at them to the point it turned me off most online multiplayer games for life.

It wasn't until I was 23 that I decided to play Pokemon Sword (it had just came out) on a whim and actually beat the whole game. That was unironically the first time I had beaten a single-player game in about 8 years (the last game I beat before that was when I marathoned the whole MGS series in 2012, I sucked at those too even on the easiest difficulty).

After beating Sword I did all the rest of the Pokemon series, and then started playing other RPGs, and slowly expanded out to most other genres. But I still suck ass and I just find it depressing how bad I am. It feels like there are certain games I'll never be able to play because of how low my skill level is.

I 100%'d Mario 64, but I did it on the Switch Online version and had to make very liberal use of save states.

I can't even fathom beating that game without save states to be honest. There are so many points at which, for instance, you fall off the map right before you get the star. Not to mention the 100 coin stars. If I died at like 99 coins and had no access to a save state to recover, I would rage so hard my console would be at risk of getting destroyed.

Don't let the people telling you it's balanced fool you. At that point it's not even your skill level. When I figured this out, it took a lot of that edge off and learning how to use weaker mons for a coherent strategy came after. Any game that lets you pick up a mid-lategame mon early like the Bagons in Sun/Moon will let you steam roll through it no items.
