A better System Shock than System Shock
A better Prey than Prey
A better Deus Ex than Deus Ex
A better Aliens than Aliens
A better Sonic, Freedom Planet, Elysian Tail, Matrix, Alien Isolation, horror action game than all of them combined.
The feeling of emptiness didn't subside after I finished it and i checked out the supplementary manga that flesh out the world. And also came across the band that performed the credits song. I highly recommend you guys to check them out. They make some kickass music.

I gave it a little over a year and that was enough time that while I got many bosses 1st try/very quickly, I'd forgotten some of the smaller details and Eigong was still a challenge. Unfortunately because I died much less and spent less time going back to the pavilion, I missed out on some dialogue even though I still got true ending.
Just checked the steam stats. I refuse to believe that so few people played the game. It has youtube videos with over 300k views. How come the numbers are so low

It's not that long a game and went under the radar so it's understandable it doesn't have that high of a concurrent player count.
For me personally I didn't even play it on Steam too.
I think the spike in difficulty with Eigong was too much but I still loved overcoming it in the end. Heard people say the game has too much dialogue. I don't get it. It doesn't even have all that much. Most of your playtime is spent with gameplay.

your shit FOTM game flopped furniggers.
you spamming these miserable threads endlessly and fooling people into playing this trash doesn't make it any less of a totally garbage game.

Did two true ending playthroughs and I don't get this either, and I'm someone who absolutely values gameplay over story even when it comes to RPGs. I felt a lot of it was well paced, and even found myself attached to the characters by the end.

normies are just angry the had to pause the video essay/podcast they have been playing at 2 times speed as background noise while playing the game.
I was honestly surprised how good the storytelling and characters were in this game. I read the taglines on its steam page "difficult, soulslike" and thinking I'm mainly in it for the gameplay, but no, not only did it have great gameplay, it also had pretty compelling writing. Like story moments like Yi and Heng's relationship and Yi having to say goodbye to Shaunshaun actually touched me emotionally.
Also it's funny they snuck in a neutral but tragic portrayal of incest in this game that I got to respect the devs for that.

I don't know how intential it was but the fact that this game is so gameplay focused with long stretches of the player having to lock in and face high difficulty adversity pairs so well with the downtime you feel when you come back to your base and develop Yi's relationship with Shuanshuan and company. The music has all these eastern isntruments that are commonly associated with meditative music and contemplation. It's so easy to grow attached to the characters because you spend relaxing time with them after long stretches of high tension fighting. And by the end when you have spend so much time with these characters and found out so much about the lore and ramifications this plot has.. Man when you overcome that final challenge and watch the last cutscenes as they lead into the credits with the music. It's like a true walking into the sunset moment.

Eigong is so hyped by everyone that I actually found her moveset underwhelming in the end. At least until phase 3.
She did take me several hours to beat but it was mostly just an exercise in endurance given how much health she has and how few opportunities you have to hit her with your sword. So by the end of it, the fight just felt routine rather than epic. I don't know how this could be fixed though.
>>718885313 >use another character for a prequel like the comic did >or invent a new space-animal race >or bs a reason why the Fusang wasn't limited to the island and bring Yi back

Cultivation in the context of Chinese fantasy involves practitioners attempting to increase their spiritual power until they become an immortal. You can maybe if you really really stretch it apply that to Eigong attempting to find immortality, but Fusang cucking her makes Nine Sols an explicitly anti-cultivation story.

lolno, he blew himself up trying to make a butterfly and Fusang only took pity on him for the purpose of making him Fusang's undead revenge soldier.
