As in LG panel so WOLED? The Asus XG27AQWMG. It’s the first of the true 4th-gen WOLEDs to come out.

Buying TVs for gaming is shit because you're limiting yourself to 120hz. Plus likely highly input lag than you would get with a more well tuned monitor. And as far as I'm concerned most of Samsungs panels are just as good as LG's panels.

I'll either get LG 39GS95QE, or wait til they make a 5k2k 39 inch

120hz can be enough for gaming. i say this having a 240hz monitor. plus the tvs are much better looking, have good enough brightness and have glossy coatings without all the drawbacks of the qdoleds. also their input lag is the same as monitors. the only real shit is the size i think even 42" is too big

After getting 240hz I don't wanna go back. It's not that 120hz isn't enough, I just don't like settling for less. When I play games that really can take advantage of it then I really feel the difference in multiplayer games.

You didn't need meme refresh rates back with CRTs and you definitely do not need them now

We played Quake at 72fps and Quake 3 at 125, you are not telling me any game right now needs more than 120hz and you definitely do not

fair enough. 240fps do improve clarity and responsiveness a lot. ill concede.

Based. That's how I feel in general with PC gaming

you are right but this is only with crts. 60fps on crt has the same clarity as a 240fps monitor maybe even more

I dislike giant OLEDs for TV simply because of how shit they tend to be for text clarity. One of the best ways to improve the issues with OLED text is to just brute force it with pixel density, and sitting right next to a bigass TV does the opposite.

You need to go to about 480hz to get CRT level motion clarity inherently from an OLED.

good point. ive never tried oleds but im a big fan of their contrast. maybe ill buy a mini-led instead
Anonymous No.718884075 >>718884306
>>718883502
yeah i know there's all that but fuck it, OLEDs have such a jump in response time from LCDs as it is, what are we splitting hairs here to casually play some multiplayer. you're not getting paid for it.

Sorry I mean I dislike using large OLED TVs as a monitor. Text clarity isn’t an issue in game or watching a movie or whatever. E.g. normal TV use. But with thin text on a webpage OLED pixel layouts cause lots of issues (color fringing, general blurriness) if the pixel density is too low. It’s not even fully eliminated outside of perhaps 27” 4k OLEDs.

yes, if your satisfied with that thats perfectly fine. im just a motion autist. for example oleds have great response times but they are still sample and hold, which can make them even choppier than lcds.

yeah fair, you do you of course. with me 120hz is about my limit for caring about refresh rates.

>You didn't need meme refresh rates back with CRTs
That's because we're still yet to catch up to CRTs in motion clarity at least. Even 240hz isn't enough. See blurbusters own CRT beam simulation shader they created about what higher refresh rates achieve with their shader in regards to blur reduction.

i got the shader working with my 240hz lcd monitor and it is mega worth it for 30-60fps. for 120 and above i think sample and hold is good enough for now. nothing wrong with a little blur

LG UltraFine 5k just cuz it's the least gaming-themed and looks like a normal fucking monitor. yes it's old and yes it's inferior to newer models. am i willing to compromise that for superficial aesthetics? Yes.

Most monitors look like normal monitors. Sounds like you're getting autistic because of the base, but I mean whatever, at least you seem to recognize your weird insecurities.

Weaponized autism
She's an Archmage who has spec'd her stats and skills entirely into Explosion magic and nothing else, and she's from a tribe of autistic mages who were literally genetically engineered for peak magical performance.
Since her Explosion magic is by far the strongest weapon her party has, she's also killed most of the bosses they've come across, which means she's soaked up a ton of EXP and gotten overleveled which has made her even stronger. Even though she's an Archmage and a delicate young girl, she has more STR levels than her boyfriend.

240hz is the bare minimum just for blur busters CRT beam simulation shader.. 360-480hz is the ideal range.

But my eyes tell me still that we need to go higher in refresh rates. So I wouldn't put it past 960hz being a point of where a lot of blur is eliminated.
