That's the problem. WoW keeps shoving shit characters in our face that don't have a place in the story, and we never see again. They whip out a third-tier character from 18 years ago and think we're supposed to care like it's Illidan or something.
>BFA troll royalty - never see them again. Princess Who?
>BFA every damn Kul'tiran. Left them behind forever.
Aside: Why was there a six-figure fully rendered animation about Thrall fucking around in Outland? Was it a teaser for something? Thrall's big return? He didn't do jack shit. He watched Saurfang die and then he talked a little. I care so little about Thrall's mystery family, let me guess his daughter is named Marilyn Susan.
>Shadowshit: worthless, boring characters in every covenant. None of which will ever leave the afterlife for any reason. Expansion was a waste of time lore-wise. Just awful. Also, all of our gods are robots from the N64 dimension, how's that for "immersion"?
>DF: The same damn dragons that were supposed to be "at the end of their age" in Cataclysm. Basically mini-gods except they can't/refuse to help us right now. If we ever see that frost primal dragon woman again I'll be shocked. Nameless boring centaurs. Walrus people with no personality besides "LOL SOUP". Fucking Moles from Wisconsin I was sick of ten minutes into that cavern patch.
We have no ongoing story, no main characters the audience roots for or even has strong feelings against. They're all a beige pile of blandness against a beige backdrop. Blizz has to resort to using characters made by people who gave a fuck to elicit any kind of reaction from their audience.
