i hate that they ruined the character in the reboot saga because they felt that too many people idolized him. imagine if they took patrick bateman and then wrote him as finding meaning in having a family and putting his old ways behind him. everyone would rightfully call that shit out as retarded and not in line with the character at all and like someone trying to write a completely different story while using the american psycho name to sell their product. but if you call out god of war for doing the same thing, you are a manchild chud with no understanding or ability for growth (unlike kratos, who sees the error of his genocidal ways now and just wants to raise his plucky son). it's retarded through and through, trying to rewrite characters to "own" the people who like those characters is petty, childish, and shows an inability to actually write. if you feel like the "point" of the character is not clear enough, then rewrite the scene they are in to emphasize the point, don't rewrite the character to be something completely different. no one likes a skinwalker.

Around the time of the American Psycho movie coming out, Bret Easton Ellis and the film's producer, Clifford Street, wrote a series of emails written by Patrick Batemen which would be emailed to fans who signed up for it as a marketing campaign.
The emails were set in 2000, so well after the events of the movie itself, and there were essentially a sequel in that sense. Most of the emails are between Patrick and a therapist he hires for email sessions.
In these emails:

anyway to cut a long summary of these emails short, there's a couple points where Patrick writes about spending time with his son and even having to do regular people shit like take the bus with him. He emails his therapist a drawing of a plane that his son made for him, At the end, it's revealed that Patrick's therapist is in fact the man that has fallen in love with Jean. Patrick doesn't really mind that, but tells his therapist

I see a lot of people, at least outside of /v/, that act like Kreia is a great example of a grey Jedi mentality since she shows you the flaws that come from pure light/dark. But the whole point of her character is that her mentality, while bearing some truth, is flawed. Not to mention it's an effort to manipulate the protagonist and isolate them in a lot of ways. Kreia's not entirely wrong, but idolizing her makes it feel like a person hasn't really played KOTOR 2 fully.
