Funny thing is, even back in the mid 2000s/early 2010s which is when I was active on DW you were still expected to hide your power level. Even if you weren't being enough of an insufferable fag to catch a ban or get banished to the losers subforum, you'd still be publicly humiliated by other members of the forum.
Also like how he's trying to present himself as an oldfag in the community when a lot of shit he's crying about has been present for ages.
Mapping standards? Nigger, there's been mapping standards for as long as I was in the Doom community. Don't steal shit from other wads, give credit where credit is due, don't use Oblige/Slige generated maps, don't put chaingunners thousands of map units away, don't put a bunch of shit in the level the player can get stuck on, don't try to make a 32 level TC if you've never mapped before. There's been a laundry list of do's and don'ts for as long as I was in the community.
People starting ambitious projects and never finishing them? If I had a nickle for every time that happened while I was active in the community, I'd be a god damn millionaire. Still haven't heard neither hide nor hair of the full version of Foreverhood, still no Action Doom 3 despite Action Doom 2 teasing at it, still no Deus Vult 3, and most of all still no god damn Mordeth 2.
Also when I checked the forums a few minutes ago I still saw quite a few names I recognize from back in the day so acting like they've all been driven out is retarded. Yeah I'd imagine quite a few old timers are gone but that's just to be expected. Doomworld's been around since the 90s. I started browsing Doomworld back in like 2005 back when I around 16 and quite a few of the dudes from back then were in their late 20s/early 30s. Pretty sure it's safe to say quite a few of them have not only had children at this point but grandchildren as well and have moved on from discussing mods for a game that's well over 30 years old.
