The problem is that those scenes don't show any substantial emotion. Link might as well be fully autistic in them. In one he stands there, and in another he stands there and then takes a step forward (which, for all we know, may be just because he is curious about the identity of a person wearing a mask, not because he already knows the identity). Meanwhile he does emote in the scene I posted; he is clearly surprised.
