Don't know about this article, but the steam family share has been great because my friend group all have mostly different tastes, so anytime I'm curious if I'd like to try a new genre, I can just borrow one my friends have without the financial investment. It also helps when they have removed games like Poker Night at the Inventory and I no longer need to pay an arm and a leg for it.

Of course just pirating things is an option, but having a friend directly recommend one rather than scouring the internets many opinions is better for trying stuff out. Brings back memories of sharing tips and tricks in certain games we'd all play, which is harder to come by unless you are an AAA mega title everyone plays.

My friend doesn't do anything like that. But reading further into it, it looks like it's irrelevant. I thought it had game sharing, but it says if only one person owns the game, only one person can play it at a time. I would only be doing this with one friend but it's pointless if we can't play the same game at the same time unless he buys a copy. That's not really gamesharing. I can see how it would be great for 5 people and there's two copies of a game not being used by the owners, but that's not my situation.
