How come your friends felt more like friends in the original SMT V compared to Vengeance?

Because vengeance quite literally did away with the characters the original focused on for a story that was still bad.

I don't understand how the Nahobino thing works. The story constantly tells you that it's when a demon regains their own Knowledge. However, you have blatant examples of demons trying to use you to become a Nahobino with Baal and Zeus and you've got an example of a demon becoming a Nahobino with you in Tsukuyomi, despite you being the Knowledge of Susanoo. It even suggests that Amanozako is part of you, despite her being an offspring of Susanoo and not Susanoo himself.

The protagonist holds Susano-o's Knowledge.
But because Susano-o is brothers with Tsukuyomi, that means that a semi-perfect Nahobino is possible with Tsukuyomi.
Others like Baal are related to Susano-o via bull god imagery, making the protagonist somewhat viable to become an even more imperfect Nahobino with them. For everyone outside of Susano-o, it's essentially a "close enough" to count.

Doing that frees up the throne and allows demons to become proper gods again and take YHVHs place, but Lucifer sits his ass in front of the throne and prevents anyone from getting in and doing so. He starts sweet talking people like Dazai and Abdiel into becoming Nahobino because he's looking for someone strong enough to defeat him and restart the inevitable cycle after perceiving the greater mandala or cycle of law and chaos. That's why his true form is mechanical like Metatron, he figured out he's another cog in the eternal wheel and his freedom is impossible.

After beating Kagutsuchi and Lucifer in 3, DF teams up with him against the greater will. And in 5 he's dead. I'm pretty sure defeating the greater will/god of law is what caused the power outage, not Kagutsuchi. The monk guy in 5 reveals himself to be another form of Kagutsuchi.

Let me reiterate. Demi-fiend is from World A, Beano is from World B. The Demi-fiend fucked up the whole Conception cycle permanently in World A, meaning that time stopped existing there. Then he went on outside of World A to kill YHVH/Great Will who oversaw all the worlds that had the Law of Conception rules. While that happened, World B was in the process of the Conception, and everything went to hell because YHVH/Great Will was killed. It still follows up on the events of Nocturne, but it's a different world that was affected by the Demi-fiend's actions outside of the material realm. Theme wise, CoC is about isolationism and CoV is about companionship.
In CoC you don't really make friends with anyone and despite being closer to Aogami. But you still keep your distance (this hit harder in the original without the bench feature but the feeling still remains)
In CoV you make friends with the group and get much closer with Aogami almost immediately. And the guest system drives this even further. It's meant to fuel the revenge arc that happens later.

Both have the theme of taking what you have for granted though. In CoC you realize just how important Aogami is too late. In CoV you grow accustomed to having friends and Aogami to support you thinking there is nothing that will tear it apart, and you get reminded how untrue that is. It's what the quote in the beginning of the game is about. Being so distracted that you forget how little time you have left with everything that matters to you in your life.

Build some extra demons that can focus on his party's weaknesses. One tip I can give you is to give all of your demons Null/Reflect Phys except Nahobino who should get Resist Phys instead, this is because if everyone gets Null/Reflect, he will use his Almighty AOE attack way more often than usual, making the fight ironically even harder.

He spam Megidolean, Freikugel and if in 5 turns you don't kill a Demon then he does the Gaea thing with pierce and just kills everyone no matter your stats. His demons debuffs and put ailments on you on every turn and he fully heals everyone after you get him to half life. And let's not forget about his instant kill bullshit that also halves your turns.

This is legit the most bullshit fight I've ever encountered in a video game ever and I hear Satan is even worse.

Bring a dedicated buffer/debuffer, in my run I brought Idun and Cleopatra, so using their exclusive skills I was able to keep my team constantly buffed while debuffing his team. Regarding his full heal, it's pretty much an intended part of the fight, but you can actually avoid it, if I recall correctly you can try using Charm on Demifiend right before he reaches half his HP, and if you pass that threshold while still charmed, he won't use his healing move.

Bring at least 7-8 different demons to cycle through to aim at all of his demon's weaknesses.

Make sure to have a demon with Accursed Poison. You need to seal him when he hits 50% health, he has a hard coded diarahan there you need to seal him. Once he fails it once he won't try it again. I think Yoko is Amaterasu actually. Or what's left of her after YHVH denied her coming back to prevent Tiamat resurrecting. Personally I don't think P4 needs a remake at all. I played Golden recently for the first time (only played vanilla on ps2) and outside of minor graphical complaints and Chie's new dub va being terrible, I don't have any real complaints.
P3 needed a lot of updating, all P4 is probably going to get is Baton Pass/Shift.

Demon literally means spirit, it can mean guardian spirit (agathodemon) or evil spirit (cacodemon).
In SMT5 it explains that all gods were reduced to demons because YHVH took their divinity when he took the throne, and put it as "knowledge" inside a tree in the garden of eden. Which humans were tricked into eating. Now humans have gods knowledge inside them (the divinity aspect you'll hear talked about in Gnosticism).
Demons couldn't take their knowledge back because as long as YHVH was on the throne, trying to take it back would turn them into a silly little red goblin.
Once they learned god was dead, all demons went to look for their Knowledge and become proper Gods again (Nahobino.)

You could say Demi is interested in her but you're only going off of questionable implications and despite that, he was pushed with Pixie in the end.
