The other massive problem is that with the U.S. being a massively younger country in comparison to the rest of Europe, there's little 'cultural capital' to fall back on that's guilt-free that isn't WWII and the Revolutionary War.
Its even worse with the inclusion of black people, because - and I say this with the utmost sympathy despite how the entire race has ended up - they are a people with zero historical identity and zero future beyond the entertainment industry, and American left has chosen to coddle this dead-end ethnic group in the interest of further balkanizing the working class and garnering democratic votes.

Which is great for gloablism, but Rome decayed in the exact same way that the American hegemon is decaying right now. Bread and circuses make the population complacent, but people are rapidly becoming more discontent in spite of having Amazon and ChatGPT to do their homework. The next Medieval Dark age will be in the form of some sort of EMP that disables or destroys the internet.
