Hero Concept: Headless Bokor

Basic Fire: Shoots a three-round burst gun. Hold to decrease spread and increase accuracy when shot.

Bokor turns himself or another target ethereal, rendering them immune to bullet and weapon damage but increasing the spirit damage they take.
>4. Otherworldly Doors
After a short channel, Bokor creates a portal that tunnels through any terrain that heroes can see, walk, shoot or use abilities through as if they are right next to each other. AoE abilities touching the portal will also affect the other end of the portal. Non-hero units cannot move or see things through the portal. There is a visual and audio indicator on where the portal is being made as Bokor channels.

This. The main thing about Deadlock is that it's rooted in early to mid 1900's occult Americana, but a little beyond that still fits.

The Dudeman is easily the most fun character in the game to play. You can run laps around entire teams and be their worst nightmare by constantly disrupting them and stunning them. Even when people know how to counter his ult you're still forcing them to deal with the combo afterwards.

None of this affects FPS at all. The game literally just teleports anything that goes through the portal to the other side, nothing needs to be done to fix the gravity or whatever.

A game running on a dedicated server (i.e Deadlock) will just send networking packets correcting any sync errors on its own simulated instance of the portal. In multiplayer, the amount of players you are sending data to effects the performance the most, the calculations in between, largely do not matter as much since it will always calculate data in between.

So no, portals in multiplayer aren't as impressive if it's in the same engine as portal 2, since the multiplayer aspect does not strain the resources of the game.

Actually a lot of games have systems in place to slow down calculations depending on the amount of actors that are present in the engine. I never said raising 50 to 100 won't cause a performance hit, but that if you created a game and created a system to calculate a specific number of actors appropriately, none of what you said is an issue. Needing to melee confirm every soul means they would get harassed way more than average. They would need to be the tankiest character in the game or somehow mitigate this because even Shiv and Abrams can't get away with that right now.

Melee confirm on souls was made less responsive deliberately. I don't know why they did it but I remember the patch because I used to do it all the time and had to stop relying on it as much. They would need to address that and if the less responsiveness was intentional, there might be a balance reason there.

So in some situations anon you are correct, it's basically a stun and there is nothing wrong with waiting for the person to come out but you need to consider a few things.

What was their HP? Did Doorman banish them knowing they will die to his bell when they come out? Don't wait, you should be doing something else.

Is this a teamfight? Don't wait. The banished individual cannot do anything while banished so don't stand there waiting for them, go kill/fight someone else and then come back. This is especially true if the Doorman ulted like a full health ulting Warden, not to kill said Warden but rather to take him out of the fight while he has ult up.

If you are playing the Doorman you can also fuck up using it as a stun. Do you have three teammates about to kill a low health characters? maybe Grey Talon is charging up a charge shot or something? Don't ult. You will literally save your enemy and make them unkillable for a few seconds. This is especially devastating if it gives their team time to respond.

Are you the Doorman in a teamfight? Don't use your ult on low health heroes to kill them. Lots of skills can do that. You know what lots of skills can't do? Take the 50k Haze out of a fight for 6 seconds while you kill the team she's carrying.

Like I said anon, using it like a Mo and Krill ult isn't always terrible, but it can be. A banish vs. a stun is something that came up a lot in Dota which is why some of us are talking about it like it's common knowledge.

Drifter's kill line implies the opposite. He says Shiv "muzzled himself". That combined with the fact the artifact has a cross on it tells me that's his "muzzle" and his rage is him controlling himself so that he doesn't go into a bloodlust and the artifact helps him do that. Mina also has a line implying he is cursed. The only question really is if Shiv is a vampire like Drifter or if they were just both monsters that killed people and Shiv is something else like a Werewolf.
