It's extremely heavy to run. And to be honest, I understand it's got ray traced reflections, shadows and global illumination, but the areas are extremely small. And even then, go into first person view and look at stuff upclose. They don't hold up. As soon as you hit larger areas the pop in is atrocious. And if you lower the settings it basically runs without any proper lighting and shadow system, it's like they didn't even plan for it to run without lumen.
The shader compilation at the beginning is basically extreme prime95, I had to unoverclock my 12700k in order to get past it, I never ever had issues with stability on any other software.
With a 3070, and the UW and fps cap fix, 3440x1440p, I run heavier areas around 55 to 65 fps. Ultra textures, medium gi, high shadows, doss performance.
The game would definitely benefit from frame gen. It's relatively slow paced, and with a base fps around 60 and reflex injected it'd play pretty good. But last I heard the UI flickers like crazy with the mods methods, so not really worth it.
To me, this feels like a quick cash grab. Most animations and new gameplay systems are lifted straight out of V, the made from scratch ones, of which there aren't many, look and feel shoddy.
This being a remake they could have massively expanded the game areas, added new gameplay features, improved the soldiers ai and reactivity to be less forgiving. Overall I'm disappointed, it's exactly like halo CE anniversary, with the art direction done good mind you, but not remotely worth 80 bucks.
