I use AI for code completion and it's definitely at the "unskilled/entry-level laborer" stage already. It can recognize patterns and complete things faster than I can type them. It can scaffold something decent if you just write some documentation and comments. But it's still stupid with complex issues, and I still have to manually type a lot because the completions just aren't good enough or don't match my overall plan. So, basically, it already matches getting code submissions from someone fresh out of school or a coding camp.
