Kill yourself. I paid for this piece of shit. I got ripped off. I wanted to buy Todd's Little Lies fully knowing I'm making a fool out of myself and naively hoped he will prove me wrong. But he didn't. It was even worse than Fallout 4 and I genuinely tried to play it vanilla, I tried Bubba'ing it, tried cooming it up. Nothing, just a shit game made worse by being a Fallout. And Starfield doesn't even have mods. Or at least the last I checked there was nothing worthwhile.

I got all the trophies, but Bethesda really needs to fuck off with the full auto damage nerf in their games.
If they give automatic weapons the love it deserves, I'll play the game again and even dip my fingers in the modding.
It's great the Bethesda moving forward with more content. They really should offload official content and not burden the modding community that is ran mostly by wildcatters at the moment.
I really hope they don't kowtow to R*ddit and deviate from the hard-science NASA theme. The Skyrim mechanics are more than enough. I really don't give two shits about ayylmaos. We have fucking Star Wars and 40K rolling with that nonsense.

The truth is, Starfield is just extremely bad at being a Bethesda game.

>be in base
>sort out gear and grab what you need
>open map and pick location or quest
>head out
>2 minutes later something to fight
>2 minutes later something to explore
>2 minutes later something to interact with
>2 hours later
>completed 2 quests
>explored 1 dungeon
>looted 2 new pieces of gear
>encountered a new companion
>now you are at your target location to do what you actually wanted to do
>do the thing
>you've played the game for 4 hours and return to your base
>do some maintenance, eat, sleep, head out again

Steps 5 to 11 Bethesda just kinda forgot to implement. You still open your map but the whole emergent gameplay thing is just not there. You simply fast travel directly to where you want to go and do what you wanted to do. There is nothing to explore and there is nothing to find. Empty abandoned outposts and camps.

And the game has a fucking amazing framework of systems and mechanics. The whole ship building is top notch but it lacks depth, same with the outpost building. There is simply no reason to do it because it's all cosmetic. It doesn't open anything new. Todd he said he didn't want to force the player to do something that wasn't fun. But he ended with a game that doesn't force the player to do anything at all. So unless the player finds the act of doing something in and of itself fun there is no reason to do it.

For example outpost building. If that would unlock new quest lines or special gear or abilities players would actually build them. Or if they served as checkpoints to restock and refuel on longer trips or to off load/sell valuable cargo. Just an answer to the question "what does it do?" would be good.

How does it reward your time, I'm legitimately curious. Because it's the same 12 locations with identical spawns on every planet, it's the same handful of weapons, no quest has any baring on anything, because everything is randomly generated and every major quest was written in a vacuum without a lore bible so nothing references anything else or even understands parts of the setting established in other quest lines, because no one interacted during development so all quests were written without talking to people who made other quests, so they contradict each other. Do you mean because you can NG+ forever and get a single encounter changed 1.6% of the time?

If it had a smaller scale (say a single system with a couple planets you could travel to seamlessly) and didn't try to rip off 10 different games while doing everything they do a lot worse, it could've been salvageable. That wouldn't have made up for the garbage writing and insufferable characters but it would've been a start. I get the sense that Todd and friends had no idea what they wanted Starfield to be

It wasn't the most terrible thing ever but it wasn't good either. 4/10. I'd give it another point if cuckstellation members weren't essential and you could kill them, absolutely insufferable cast you're forced to do the main quest with. I did like that one quest with the time fuckery but it was just a random side quest.

>NG+ multiverse mechanic
>opportunity for massive changes for every NG+ playthrough
>somehow, coincidentally, by miracle, every universe you go to is exactly the same save for a small chance that only one specific group of people have been affected and all it does is rush along the main quest so you can go through NG+ again
they should have just scrapped the whole multiverse shit if it was going to be so bland and inconsequential
