survival crafting and light base building but the tone isn't super serious. most people will tell you its what if you were gordon freeman but black mesa was much more scp and everything has already gone horribly wrong and even more wrong than that. you're not trained in combat so you have to make all your weapons and armor and defend your base.
keep in mind the base building here isn't mining 7 million rocks and wood, you just take over whatever space you want to build your gear, feed yourself, have a place to take a dump, rest/sleep, etc.

I was immediately in the "he's very obviously the anomaly being contained" camp, but I'm not worried about it because my own personal hypothesis is the player character is also an anomaly. We weren't when we came in, but we've interacted with so many different Anteverses that our body has become kind of a "Ship of Theseus" meta-physics organism: completely loaded with matter and strange energy from half a dozen Anteverses. To the point that parts of us probably exist in higher dimensions or even contradictory periods of time & space.

Also when i read "oh its shapeshifter disguised as a bell" i didn't pay enough attention to shaeshifter part...I rang the bell once, got super scared of what might happen if i do it again and ran away.

I understand if you've just encountered it. The first hour or so is pretty tense, but after a while the Leyak becomes background noise, and you can just have a couple of x-ray turrets in key points of your base that will kick it out automatically.
You can also get a trinket that makes it assume you can see 360 degrees around you, so it can't even sneak up on you. By the time you can seal the Leyak away you've got enough options and experience that it's only worth doing for the achievement.

I doubt your vtubers and such could stream this, because there's a fair bit of downtime and the ADHD-riddled 12 year olds that make up their audience would be bored and post shit like "Zzzzzz".
In short, you have no idea what you're talking about and just want to shit on a game you've never played and probably haven't even looked up. Or you're that faggot from a few threads back who likes claiming this is all grind and then decided to go on a crusade when the jannies deleted his shitpost.

I 100% completely agreed before I browsed the wiki and learned it wasn't forever early access fucking slop.
The streamers have and haven't helped: if your only experience with the game is 3 streamers screaming and shitting their pants while they get nothing done, I'd hate this game too. It's a fantastic single player experience though and way more like System Shock or Half Life 1 "with base building".

Lasers are literally infinite power.

>Socket => Carbon Battery => Emitter => Converter => Plugboards

You can have hundreds of devices powered this way from a single socket without needing any other batteries, because the Carbon Battery is "technically" only powering a single devices' worth of power consumption per night, the Emitter, which in turn powers everything else.

When you get to level 10 in a skill you're only around 1/9th of the way there and getting from level 19 to level 20 takes almost as much exp as going from level 1 to level 10. Finally beat this game, it's way bigger than I thought it was. I'd say it was riding a high and peaked around Cascade Laboratories and the Security sector. That's when the maps were the most interesting, you were learning about the contained IS things, and you were still fairly regularly exploring different anteverses.

The rest of the game after Hydroplant started to feel like a slog, enemies with a lot of health and anyone with a brain knew where the story was going the instant that guy broke containment. It wasn't bad, but it really felt like it overstayed its welcome. The final boss was just plain ass, I was running mostly melee the whole time and there was no indication that you need to be totally stocked on ranged weapons. Even then you're fighting the damn thing for way too long.

I've been playing it singleplayer. Big difficulty spike in the beginning because most weapons suck and you wont have much armor until you make the F.O.R.G.E set in manufacturing. Don't bother using military weapons because they suck shit except the revolver. Also don't ignore shields because you can use many spears and one handed weapons with them which is really handy to block bullets and avoiding bleeding, bleeding can kill you reslly fast so always carry bandages.

Just finished the game last night, and found it weird that they left it off exactly the same as previous EA updates rather than finishing the story and letting you escape. I'm sure a lot of people have expressed the same opinion, but it's just weird to me they don't plan to expand the game by adding new portal worlds as you go along or Manufacturing East or whatever. No definitive ending until whatever they plan to do in 1.X or whatever is strange.

Cahn was able to manifest and talk in the nightverse, the Order mentions that the reaper is possibly the enemy of old (and references the "Somnivore" or dream eater), and at the end Cahn's translation of his master's thanks mentions that the only true home is the grave.

Now, what exactly this entails is another question.

He probably appears because the button you press last is the same one found in his goofy shadow realm, so I guess that means the reactor is powered with shadow orbs or something.
