Not much new gameplay. It's pretty much old gameplay you've seen before but it's dubbed and translated. The only thing missing from this one was the fight with that priestess. Some differences that were shown is that you can see how long the windup can be when you swing your melee down. They showed switching between melee items briefly also enemies disappear really quickly once defeated. There was also a big pause when you counter at the right time on an attack when they have this weird aura around them. Other times, the hits don't seem to register and you are confused if you will stagger their attack or just jump in to poke in and get out when you can. Based on info before where it said you earn no EXP or resources for fighting enemies, it doesn't seem worth it to fight them unless they block your way so it's best to run away when you can. They do show spots where it seems a fight is unavoidable but I don't think they show that you can run from those encounters because they wanted to show off the combat gameplay more. Still a mixed bag on whether it'll be enjoyable or not.

Years of shitty obsessive Silent Hill 2 retreads culminating in the HD collection and the Book of Memories game. The series was an utter laughing stock for almost a decade before going on ice. The funny thing is, it's been so long since then that we now have a newgen fanbase who were introduced to the series through SH2 video essays. And SH2 is now all the secondaries want.
