What do Anons think about sex scenes in non nukige VNs? I don't skip them outright but I tend to speedread through them, usually only masturbating at the end of the reading session if the scenes were good. The eroge format doesn't really work with edging, at least for me, compared to hgames for instance, as the scenes tend to be further apart. However I still prefer when they are present, as they make the setting and story feel less sanitized.

The individual routes aren't that long. You can do one in a day if you get into it. 100%ing the game is a recipe for burnout, though. Just play the ones with the heroines you like.
I'd say the best ones are Tonami, Ruuko, Konomi, Manaka, Ikuno, Saaryan, Harumi, Nanako and Haruka. But your mileage might vary. It's also a shame the writing in TH2DT isn't that strong, it was nice playing DT2 and 2-2 to find way stronger character writing there though.

ToHeart2 has been on my backlog for years. At this point, I'm just waiting for the remake to get started. But since AquaPlus has been sold, I don't know if it will happen anymore.

There's a project called Agent text hook that lets you use bespoke javascript scripts to hook into pretty much anything. It has a library for PCSX2, so you might want to look into that. If you are playing a game no one has set up a script for, you might have to go through some effort to make one, though.

Steins gate is the big sci fi VN most rec outside of Uchikoshi's works, not really the same sort of VN, but I would be remiss if I didn't list it.

Ar tonelico 1 and 2 as just another general rec if you want a game mixed in with your VN.

If you want something actually in the same vein, There's Root√Double, which feels like he had to have written some part of it, but he didn't. It's a decent read.

There's also Dei Gratia no Rashinban, which is....you can tell the devs liked Ever17, or at least it's hard to not think that.. It's interesting to say the least, and it really covers the mystery and sci fi elements of the genre well.

3 routes into the OG Yu-No. Once you got enough crystals and you understand how the game works it's a lot easier to tackle.
