Release of Silksong actually pushed me into starting Hollow Knight, it's been sitting in my folder for years.
Pretty good game, I can see why it's so popular. Abundance of secrets or strange shit that looks like it might be important later is quite confusing though.

it does a lot of things right, but I think starting it with expectations would undermine the experience for you
because the game starts really basic and only gradually introduces lore and gameplay complexity
the only ask the game makes is for you to learn to navigate with limited map info

trying to finish Signalis before Silksong (it's fun, I have never played a survival horror game before).

I love metroidvania, I did a deathless rabi-ribi and tevi run leading up to Silksong. Really crossing my fingers that Team Cherry doesn't lean into the autistic combat side of the game, because their strengths really lie in atmosphere, music, aesthetic, and exploration.

REmake, RE1-3, Silent Hill 1-3, Fatal Frame 1-2. Pretty safe bets.

I don't know, it's a big genre, everything from Galerians to AitD1 to House to Crow Country or even Funger, can just pick whatever you like the look of.
REmake and SH1-3 are definite safe bets, they're just really well received, Signalis takes a lot of stuff from SH including Otherworld for a whole zone for some reason.

I’m finishing up Shinobi and some other random games I bought during Summer.

I found them pretty fun, especially after finishing first area and realizing you can get those star thingies by splitting itself in a hub world and connecting two different levels. Unrelated but I literally dreamed solution for one of those puzzles kek
If you want more demos then try Sinker Sound, it's weird mix of fishing and rhythm game but it's fun, though apparently it will be early access which saddens me
