was an admin in the project for a time and none of the teams could effectively communicate with one another on issues. the entire project being open source also invites a certain brand of open source development autists and drama that are an endless source of headaches.
the admin team got mired down in an ever more complex rulebook that everyone insisted would be solved if we just got twice as many admins, which only made things worse. instead of giving people autonomy to make decisions, admin workload just got so bad to the point admins didnt want to do anything so appeals backlogged forever on top of people getting gigabanned for relatively petty shit and having to wait weeks to even get an appeal looked at.
I also just didnt like the overall scope of game development. too much focus was being given to the ever prevalent species war to make everyoneβs preffered species the meta one and core gameplay systems would get overlooked because they were much more difficult to design and get accepted into the game.
