Right now, I'm reading A Secret History by Donna Tartt. I really recommend it. Before that, honestly, I've been kind of half-assing. I tend to read books halfway through and move on because I get bored. But I fully read Dune, Dune: Messiah, Children of Dune, and then half of God Emperor of Dune. This is all in the past year.

Given that we aren't getting Fallout 5 this decade, I really wouldn't worry about it. F3 already fucked up a ton of lore with east coast super mutants and somehow both sucking off and flanderizing the BoS at the same time. F4 is just retarded from top to bottom and doesn't give a fuck about anything established in previous games except as jumping off point (jumping into a septic tank).
Feels weird to say that Fallout has actually had the principles of its setting raped more than TES (ESO is not only not canon, it's not even fanfiction and nobody pays any attention to it).
The only time 'canon' matters is when it affects future material. If lore from the show affects the story in F5 then that sucks. If it has literally no impact on future titles then it doesn't matter and isn't real, assuming you dislike it. If you did like a lore thing that was ignored in future games it's still canon. You personally will always be the arbiter of canon, not the IP holder. They cannot control your mind.
