Dire forest, think the giant sequoia grove. Climbing effort is between giant branches, vines, and even leaves. But the major hazard is that any slip and fall means certain death because you're so high up, and it's not like a mountain where the land rises incrementally, it's basically just giant towers with linking paths. Maybe some giant spiders/webs as well, or ants/termites

Maybe this "alternate" Kiln doubles the injuries when you fall onto stalagmites? So instead of stocking up on anti-burn, you stock up on healing items. Would be a nice change of long-term strategies, I think.
Also more use for lamps and possibly, flares in the dark caves

It was a lot of effort, yeah. But it was worth staying up until 2am everyday for almost a week to finish it.
To people outside, it's true that they are just "characters with customizations so boring and mundane", but to me, and to each of them, they have shared food, fun times, and hardships. And together, they have reached the Peak. Just lurking in these threads, and seeing anons having fun together inspired me to give back in the only way I could - paint.

It would be interesting to have a cave with shifting water levels, where the cave is more of a sine wave in shape and you have to worry about either drowning or running out of food, because there would only be shrooms. It would end in an ascent like other levels but most of it would be ups and downs, so you have to worry about falling much more.

Maybe an alcove/interior tidepool type of zone? Mainly in a large interior and more linear similar to Kiln? Spiny seashells, slow small pools of water at a lot of ledges, octopi that lash out tentacles and knock people away if they're too close.
I'd also say maybe a volcanic springs, pools full of burning water, steam geysers reused from Alpine since those are FUN.

I'd say Swamp. Quicksand mud pools and swampy water, gators. Beyond that not sure how you'd differentiate.

Not just because of the great fun and art in these threads, they actually gave me two big changes. Because of the endearing artstyle and threads made me pick up art art again and grab my wacom after +3 years and started drawing. Also made me realize around a week ago an itch for hiking and climbing I didn't know I had. Just today some hours ago I returned from a route near the Pyrenees mountains, it was great fun!

For that walkup to the climb I want caves. Like a layer down so you can go above or below, maybe something forcing you to alternate. Mesa gave me the itch for it but the crypt isn't as good and the mineshafts are scuffed most of the time.

Played solo again because I'm still going for some achievements, but the left side of Mesa today was pretty smooth to climb.
Got the Antlion badge, tried to find more balloons but only ever got 4/6, and tried to climb 50m without touching the ground but failed. Kind of disappointed but at least it's something.

There's a period in your jump when you will stick to a wall without sliding. It's actually indicated with your hands being held in front of you. When your arms go wide, you will slide on walls.
Except that it's not quite correct. When your arms go wide, there is still a short grace period when you can still stick instead of slide.
Anyways, what you should really do, is very simply, try to shorten jumps as much as possible. I would also recommend holding down LMB pre-emptively, so your little guy grabs the wall asap.
Try 'practicing' it on some easy jumps on the beach next time you play, you'll get a feel for it really quickly.

We went all the way right. There's a vine that leads to one of the standing pillars. Climb it to a spot where you can stand, and right there you'll see another vine taking you back to the mountain itself. After that, it's easy-peasy.
Issue is, you'll probably need a nearly full stam bar, and hopefully some extra energy to make the two vine climbs. That shouldn't be an issue I think, at least this seed is rich in purpleberrys and luggage.

Jumping helps prevent falling damage much better than simply walking off a ledge.
You can see if you can stand on top of a platform or not by looking at the color of the ground, but some ledges are "slippery" so be careful with that.
Don't spam lunges. They cost more stamina than simply climbing normally. Only use them when you're about to run out of stamina.
You don't need to commit to every climb. If you're not confident you can make it, go back down and see if you can find an easier way.
Save the good food for last. Try to keep yourself fed by eating the berries/coconuts/mushrooms you find as you climb. Some of those can be poisonous but poison is not the worst affliction since it heals on its own. Just don't gorge yourself on poisonous mushrooms.
Don't be afraid to use your items. It's better to "waste" an item than to die because you were saving it for just the perfect moment.
Never leave your friends behind.

It started to get a bit tiring after the first camp, although I'll have to admit the angry as fuck ghost got a good chuckle out of me a few times right before he got resurrected and was flinging me anytime I got too close.

the noise from the first camp was actually nightmare music. The steam reviewer schitzo probably would've had a full meltdown from that dirge being played
