Is it worth replaying ten years later?

why would anyone replay this game. It literally makes you replay the game to beat it. I say this as someone who enjoyed there play through of the game

Yes, if only because of the mods.

No it doesn't, the repeated missions can be ignored.

Infinite Heaven is cool at least. I liked the addition of being able to fly with Pequod to markers. Adds a lot to running around in the world.

No.
Play and finish Peace Walker instead. I doubt you ever played it, now did you?

Top it off with Ground Zeroes 100% run.

Yes it's still the best metal gear game when it comes to gameplay and some of the storypoints are alright.

Its MGSV but clunkier, with more cutscenes and where grinding is mandatory.
Also the way to unlock new weapons is a convoluted mess.

Wrong. It's MGSV, but better, actually finished, way more "Metal Gear" -like, more mission variety, and an actual co-op mode.

>Grinding is mandatory
No it's not. Just don't rush the missions like an ADHD caffeine bunny.
I literally beat the story 100% within 20 hours, week before TPP dropped. Zero grindan needed.

>Also the way to unlock new weapons is a convoluted mess
Locating design docs and kidnapping high-level R&D people is "convoluted"?
Get fucked.

>>719746774
The HD port fixes any and all control and framerate issues, and on PC you are free to choose both.

So does MGSV.

>No it's not.
Good luck beating the Peace Walker boss fight with the M16.
You also need to finish ZEKE to truly end the game.

>Locating design docs and kidnapping high-level R&D people is "convoluted"?
When it requires completing random side ops chains and getting a specific rank on one of them yes, it is.

>That's not a positive.
Incorrect again. It's a MASSIVE plus, especially compared to Ubishit that was V.

>So does MGSV
A clunky mod built off data mined code =/= official content. The game is not designed with coop in mind no more.

>Good luck beating the Peace Walker boss fight with the M16
Why should I?
Are you one of those plebs who did NOT already have Rocket-launchers and LMGs unlocked by the Pupa fight?? That shit never ceases to blow my mind.

>You also need to finish ZEKE to truly end the game.
Yeah, which ain't an issue at all if you blast the AI pod alone, and/or do the SideOp variants. You can easily acquire the bare minimum parts by accident even.

>When it requires completing random side ops chains and getting a specific rank on one of them yes, it is.
Such as?
Because most gear is literally just standing there on the maps, and obviously S-Rank is gonna give you the best shit.

Are you retarded? Chapter 2 is just the part in PW where you do extra ops to pass time until the true ending. I just did some side ops in V

It's weird how goofy and silly Peace Walker is at times. Probably one of the lightest Metal Gear stories of them all.

Sure, but Peace Walker is far sillier at times than the rest, which is especially strange considering this is part of Big Boss's decline into villainy and yet it's a very comfy and goofy experience most of the time.

>shit-eating grin when seeing a bee hive
>meowing Ocelot

Not when MGS is defined by being movie games with awful gameplay and plots ruined with toddler humor.
MGSV got closer both gameplay and tone wise to what it should be.

> clunky mod built off data mined code =/= official content.
No, which makes it better than official content, as mods usually are.

>Are you one of those plebs who did NOT already have Rocket-launchers and LMGs unlocked by the Pupa fight??
Yes because I paid no attention to the grinding.
Was funny in retrospect, having to cut the climax of the game to go farm soldiers.

>which ain't an issue at all if you blast the AI pod alone
Sure, just gotta do it the dozens of times it requires to get lucky and get the right part.

Again, ignoring whole second half of my statement there. It's weird how light and comfy the whole tone of the game is considering this when Big Boss is supposed to start being really evil.

>Not when MGS is defined by being movie games with awful gameplay and plots ruined with toddler humor.
...said literally nobody, ever.
MGS always had great gameplay, shittons of TECHNOLOGY, tons of replay value, and fun, captivating stories.

V shat on everything MGS stood for decades. It's just an empty open-world shooter, with shittons of grindan, and no story.

Everything else is just (You) farming, and essentially stating that you don't want to play a video game.

>So great it had zero influence on the stealth genre.
It practically invented it.
Not to mention MGS was always one of Sony's flagship titles, and a huge phenomena when one arrived. Zoombies can't remember this, obviously.

>they are terrible military stories
They're not "military stories".
They are societal criticism, tackling matters about times, politics and technology controlling people, alongside with genes and memes (the OG 1970s definition) affecting individual on a more personal level.

All this, while they're all also fun and exciting spy thrillers, with occasional tear-jerker moment or two.

But enough of detours.
MGSV was a butchered mess, PW is the real MGS5, and it's one of the top-3 MGS games of all time.

Castle Wolfenstein did in 1981

>Not to mention MGS was always one of Sony's flagship titles, and a huge phenomena when one arrived
Which makes its lack of influence in stealth even more baffling.
Thief carried this genre on its back.

>They're not "military stories".
They are, they just suck at it because Kojima knows about the military as little as he does about geopolitics.
Probably why he feels the need to distract with toddler humor.
