I really enjoyed persona 5. Glad it has actual dungeons instead of the slop in 3 and 4. SMT 5 I only played the original route last year, planning to do the vengeance stuff this year. SMT 5 has better gameplay and less filler shit. I'd say Persona 5 had better highs but the filler shit really brings it down while smt 5 besides the anzus was fun the whole way. If vengeance is as good as people say I'll probably like it more than persona 5. Another thing is I played persona 5 three years ago or so and smt 5 1 year ago, and I'm much more in the mood to replay smt 5 while, persona 5, I can't see myself playing for a long ass time but it is a really long game that will last you a long time.

Royal has more improvements from P5 than SMT VV does from SMT V.

I like both, but Royal is a better game and probably easier to get through. SMT VV COV is an improvement and has better combat than basically any SMT or Persona game, but exploration still sucks, story is still aimless, characters are improved, but still kind of boring.

IV and 3 did the setting a lot better and it feels like this game tries to call back to 3 the wrong way.

Royal simply does more and for most part, it's an easier hang. I'd eventually play SMT VV when you can, but if you had to pick one, it's Royal.

Kind of a major L buddy. I'd recommend both because they're vastly different experiences but both very enjoyable experiences. If you prefer
heavy dialogue, time management, and easier gameplay, go with P5R. If you prefer less dialogue, big and open maps to explore, and more intense gameplay, pick SMTV. Simple as that really.

She's talking to Tsukuyomi. It obviously does apply to Tsukuyomi because it's his quest, the quest to save Amaterasu's remains from Orochi (like Susano'O saved Kushinada-Hime from Orochi). It's about Tsukyomi's grief over the protofiend Amaterasu, which is his motivation in the game, much like Yuzuru Atsuta's motivation is protecting his sister. At the end of the game Tsukuyomi even gives his life to symbolically save what remains of Amaterasu in Tao/Yoko.


If you come back to this quest after Tsukuyomi dies with Aogami, Kushinada does not offer the same line and in fact doesn't recognize you at all. This is because she was speaking to Tsukuyomi a person she actually knows. And completing this quest as Aogami Bino, Aogami will thank you for settling things for his brother. Because it's HIS quest.

P5 is really cool, even more so if you haven't played a Persona game before. It does have a lot of dialogue and cutscenes, so maybe you should check if you're in the mood for that. If you are, it will blow you away.
The only thing is IMO it gradually gets worse as the game goes on with the exception of a few moments. I was burned out by the time I got to the Royal content and didn't finish it.
