You may like it then. VV's new arc has a lot more cutscenes that flesh out the cast that wasn't as involved in the first story.
Like when you first arrive in the OG the game basically leaves you entirely to your own devices, but in the Vengeance arc Yoko joins your party almost immediately, comments on a few quest and has new encounters. You also get the demon haunt where you can talk to your demons about current events at save areas.
