this is the result of poor game design
magic should be able to trick enemies, have them attack each other, unlock new areas etc. even clairvoyance to predict their attacks.

gotta be honest with you guys getting a big bonk and just slamming enemies is the most boring playstyle in elden ring. in the first few hours its fun but then it becomes repetitive very quickly. a dex/int spellblade or a str/faith inquisitor is sooo much more fun. throwing a few fireballs at some distant enemies and then going in with the holy infused hammer

I've tried to play a pure mage on 3 separate occasions and it always devolves into a STR or DEX build, but I can use a spell or two. How do people not fall asleep when all they do is run away and spam?
