Pyra for me. I get people liking Mythra but never understood Nia even being in the running. Controversial take I guess but she felt like the dedicated loser who was tacked on as an after thought in someone elses romance.
I think the makers of 3 felt the same since the game really pushed how important Nia was both to the story and to Rex. Imo it seemed like the whole thing was a salvage operation for the characters image.

I guess that depends on what you want from them. Pyra benefits Damage-Over-Time builds focusing on fusion combos and elements. Earth->Fire(Volcano) has the highest DOT so you'd just have to set that up and keep it alive. Both Pyra's skills and her disguise costume help with this. But to be honest, arts recharge is way too good on Mythra.

Do you know how cool it is for your setting to take place on the corpses of two massive titans? The 2nd game's setting where you're on the backs of massive kaiju, you know how cool that is?
It was that simple to describe the settings of 1 & 2, not convoluted. They're both insanely fantastical, with character designs to match, and they stand out almost to the point of being iconic; of course talking about 1 & 2.
They didn't fall for overly serious melodramatic tones and the atmospheric meme. Their plots also weren't as pretentious and were more upfront with their themes without insisting on them in a repetitious fashion.
