To some extent, maybe. But TMNT never took it this far.
Bosses with a color change gimmick:
>Papyrus
>Undyne
>Muffet
>Mettaton (due to Alphys's assistance)
>Sans
All either directly or tangentially associated with the soul-tinkering scientist Alphys or at least located somewhere in Hotland. All of these characters can make the child protagonist's soul "change color" to significantly alter the combat system. If that's not enough of a connection, the yellow soul mode is the only one with purely beneficial effects. Cult color programming generally establishes the victim's yellow alter as the positive and spiritual section of the victim's psyche, to give the victim a sense of security and prevent them from resorting to suicide. In a Satanic cult the yellow alters will be devout believers of Jesus Christ.
Meanwhile, Blue is associated with the more militant and protective side of the cult, Green is associated with family and cult loyalty, Purple has controlling/political aspects and sees itself as an authority, and Red is the most easily accessed alter, the one that remembers sexual trauma and is involved in the cult's sexual ceremonies. There are both "light" blues and "dark" blues, with the former protecting the body and the later protecting the cult, and there are Orange alters that act as a warning system within the cult.
Not directly referenced in Undertale are Pink, Black, Clear, Brown, Silver, Gold, and Platinum alters, but the Elsagate stuff wasn't trying to imprint all of the colors either. The latter three metallic ones are exclusive to higher, hidden levels of authority in the cults. White is the most spiritually whole while Black is the most spiritually negative and is directly involved in Satan worship, Pink triggers a regression into a childlike state, Clear is a blank slate alter than can be taken over by other colors, and Brown alters, which are used significantly in CIA programming, are "spy" alters that can disguise as other colors.
