I find it curious how so many Act 1 exploration rewards are mostly rosaries.

Like I get the logic. Most of the items are now centralized around select shops and rosaries are stupidly hard to come by in Act 1. It's a very curious balancing act TC did that I don't think panned out as well as just dotting the entire map with mask/soul shards, grubs, charms, and relics.
Act 2 is way WAY better though. But the fact that Act 2 shits out so much rosaries makes exploration back in Act 1 a bit weaker.

All in all though things are still kino and this is a personal GOTY contender for me. It's HK and then some. Lacks the melancholy though.

I keep hitting bosses that make me go "this is fucking bullshit that is actually impossible" and then after a few runs they click and I dance around them and do it hitless. Just happened with Widow. I think the difficulty in this game might actually be perfect.

Ignore the march. The area to the left of The Marrow's bell beast transit station near the elevator down to the town in Bone Bottom there is a loop you can take which has a bench in the halfway point. You can easily grind 500 beads for the simple key in about ten minutes just doing loops.

This is your spot to get into Bellhart from. After having played it with M&K and a gamepad I found a gamepad was much easier, especially if you have mappable back buttons you can assign to your Up and Down tools.

Tools are easy mode. Grind out all the trinkets and accessories to power them up and it will make your life much happier than trying to ungabunga shit with just your needle. Don't worry about saving shell fragments, they drop everywhere constantly.

1st Act is basically a prologue. 2nd act is the meat and potatoes of the story and game. 3rd act is the finale. 1st act is just unlocking basic movement skills and some tools to teach you how the systems work. 2nd act will give you many skills, tools, and trinkets as well as copious amounts of beads to buy stuff with so not only is there an insane amount of map to traverse but you will backtrack to gather everything you couldn't get in the prologue. 3rd act is where you bring all the tools, skills, and experience you gained together to challenge the truth of Pharoom.

Also we still have three to four DLCs planned that are supposed to expand the world and map greatly.

Now you understand why every other indie dev is crying tears of blood over the $20 price tag.

This is genuinely such shit game design. Auto-equipping the crest that changes how you heal, changes how you platform, and arbitrarily resetting your respawn point to bum-fuck nowhere behind a couple jumps you can't just clear with the sprint and cloak. And to make matters worse, the beast crest is just pure shit from what I've seen.

I'm loving the game otherwise, but what the fuck, man.

The main problem with the run backs is that you fucking have to with any boss go through a period of learning the boss which developers of every Soulslike game ever made seems to have not even considered as a factor. Even if the run back is a straight line, if it is too long that is still adding a buffer between all your practice attempts. It's not challenging, it's just annoying only getting one attempt every few minutes.

This is mobile game design but without the paying to teleport back to the boss. I'll use Sister Splinter as an example, it's pretty easy to get to her and her patterns are pretty easy to figure out, but it still took me a few tries to figure her out and the run back is at least a minute and a half especially since you have to wait for the lift to raise you up. It took me about 6 or 7 tries to beat her. The boss ended up taking about 5 minutes because of course every boss in this game has 2 million health as well which means a boss that should have taken 10 to 15 minutes tops ended up taking about half an hour to 45 minutes.

Now I'm on the Widow lady and it's the same exact shtick, except now not only do I have to wait for the same lift but I have to circle back and kill an enemy to use the "short cut" as well.

I recognized that the guardian at the entrance would probably be trivialized if I had a dash so I moved on and began exploring other areas. I returned later in the game and just swept through the entire march like it was nothing. The Hunter's March is an example of a diagetic tutorial in that the devs are showing you, not telling you, that there will be areas in the game which will be too hard, so if you come back later when you are better equiped you can navigate them easily.

I think people are mistaking the game’s aggressive nature as a mistake when it’s the whole point.
Hollow Knight was walking into the ruins of a broken kingdom while Silksong is the kingdom currently burning down during a siege.
Hornet is kidnapped into this hellscape and the only other people climbing are taking refuge from the nightmare, people are constantly in danger and being killed and Hornet has to scrape by for every single scrap to survive as you avoid the increasingly hostile communities of birds and ants
Whether you like it or not is a different story but I respect them committing to a completely different atmosphere

Use the Spear on the adds to burst them before they become a problem

There's no reason for me to be taking double damage, because the boss' model, hovering in the air, bobbing up and down slightly, came into contact with my hitbox for a brief moment. If you ask me, I'd say contact damage shouldn't be a thing at all. Unless, it's an enemy lunging at you with all their body.

My trick to that was using the throwing knives and pollip pouch (grants poison to your tools), along with the flea juice and threadstorm. Essentially, I tried to poison & damagemax her out in the second phase so it would be over as fast as possible.

It's actually pretty fun since it's the one that's further away from the usual moveset with the lifesteal and that weird pogo. Now it feels weird going back to the other pogos.
Sucks when you fuck up and fall to 1 HP and have to risk it for the heal. Also there's some parkour sections where there's no enemies to heal despite they giving you thread for that.

I really enjoy hearing her actually interact with people here.
She was so cold to the Ghost early on that I was worried that she'd just be the same way to everyone in her own game.
She's very cordial and polite to everyone who gives her the same kindness, and it's nice to see.

The Ghost (I like that name better than the Knight or the Vessel) had a lore reason to not speak. No voice to cry suffering, and all. But Hornet does a lot of talking, so it makes sense that they wouldn't keep her silent in her own game.

So what's the hope for Hollow Knight 3?
I'm hoping we get a prequel where we play as the Hollow Knight. Maybe that'd be a bit too similar to the Ghost though, so it could also be Zote or Quirrel as a couple examples.
Hell, even Sly or Iselda would make interesting games.

I put in 60 hours of Hollow Knight in month coming up to Silksong. Silksong so far is harder. Platforming is harder because instead of a normal pogo you have a diagonal downwards dash that's very short range so it's easy to fuck it up, Hornet's grace period when gettnig hit is very very short, there's a lot of 2x mask damage early on, and she doesn't have the OP combat magic of the Knight that allowed him to avoid damage or nuke enemies from range. IDK man I beat P5 twice but I am getting my ass kicked in Silksong. That's my impression so far anyway, I'm not even 10h in.

Complete the flower quest and you get a trinket which adds poison procs to your tools. Tools that have multiple hits like boomerrang proc poison on every hit. That shit is additive and builds up extremely quickly. Deletes certain bosses.
