In my five years of playing GTAO, back when I was a sophomore, a dude whom I heisted with frequently came out and said I’m his best friend. The guy was a high schooler who didn’t do his homework, was very rude to his mother, and I’d frequently hear his mother begging him to clean his room and do his homework in the most pleading voice.

I blocked the dude after we finished playing, and then proceeded to glitch myself 600 million dollars worth of planes and cars before quitting it for good a few months later.

Not for a long time, but I had a lot of that growing up. Nowadays I operate under the assumption that I like other people more than they like me, and let things fall where they may. It isn't always the case, and I'm aware that my emotional distance is occasionally hurtful, but I endeavor to make sure that the people I care about know it as best I can.
