That's a lotta bodies. Playing without the time crystal means you REALLY need to pay attention to the crit game. Remember, snipers have de facto crit+10 on enemy phase unless you can counter them. Ironically, Bunet is kinda good for an ironman because of his high base luck.

Any other rules are up to you. Some people like playing a pseudo-ironman where you don't reset the whole file if the lord dies, but I don't like that since it just means you can 'accidentally' suicide to reset a chapter.

you have to low deploy to concentrate the exp and weapon rank training otherwise you can't beat the stat inflation. specifically for speed and hit rate. my recommendation is byleth focusing on bows + your lord focusing on axes and flying, lysithea is a must on any maddening run because warp, dark spikes and mastermind. recruit asap if off gd. then a gofer unit or two that lightly builds authority for buffs so you can enable a vantage wrath juggernaut with the counter at any distance gambit. or stride, etc.

This Sakura was unironically one of the most OP units I've ever used thanks to that early ebon wing I got from some random chest (after grinding her to level 10 in her base class for mov +1). Lucky 7 is an underrated skill (she came with it natty). Turned many otherwise tedious chapters into a complete breeze

Not sure if you'll see this but holy fuck. I completed this by the skin of my teeth, literally 1 freaking hp. A Rally by Yunaka allowed Alcryst to avoid being doubled, and also gave him enough stats to survive the hit from Diamant. Alcryst set up a Raging Storm > Houses Unite combination. Not gonna lie, this pushed me to the limit and is the thinnest I've walked between a win and a defeat.

This has to be the most retarded shit I have ever seen in these games. Not the fact that Camilla can just shit out 10 damage to all of my units per turn, when I'm lucky to have 30 hp per unit, but the fact she did it twice in a fucking row.
Never before had a fucking dragon vein been capable of being used twice, and they not only give it to the enemy, it deals 1/3rd of all of my units' HP, and I couldn't even tell the dragon vein was still active because her sprite was fucking covering it. This shit is 100% malicious, with the sole intent of making me restart the map or fucking up an ironman run. This is beyond retarded.

First time she did it, it caught me by surprise, but I took it in stride. Went to check for the glowy dragon veins I had apparently missed,and saw there were two left, one for the middle path and another for the leftmost one. I figure "Ok, she's going to do it again once I get to the middle". Instead she's somehow capable to recycle the one she had just used, nukes my entire party again, I lost the paladin and the oni savage. I even made it a point to check for any remaining dragon veins, but I couldn't see the one she had just used was still active. Why would I ever assume she would be able to reuse it? Never before had I seen a dragon vein not being spent on use, and I also didn't see the glowing thing because her sprite was covering it. It's retarded that the game changed the rules of how they work just to fuck me over. It was only turn two but it's the spirit of the event that pisses me of, not the time lost.

Should I leave each ring on a designated character or is it better to rotate them so everyone gains a variety of skills? Had the idea of scrimbloing Alear in all of the rings because it felt thematically appropriate, but I don't know how much "fun" I can afford on Maddening. I'm not the tactically brightest to begin with.

They don't "gain" skills, once you remove the ring, it's gone. What you're getting when you equip a ring is SP and bond level. SP is for inheriting skills, this is when you can keep the emblem skills outside of equipping their ring. Bond level unlocks more skills/higher skill level and increases the stat boost from equipping the ring.

Hence, you do not need to rotate the rings to gain skills, simply equip an emblem ring to accumulate SP, ZR to check what can be inherited from each emblem, reach the appropriate bond level (minimum 5), and then inherit the skill to gain the skill permanently.

Divine dragon is a more support focused class, to use the unique dragon bonuses for each emblem. Personally from chapter 11 onwards, I like Lucina emblem because bonded shield is 90 percent, and your passive gives 3 damage to allies, and you can use Lucina bow to damage fliers. Ideally, you should've picked up avoidance skill from Marth too, together with Alear's high speed and engraves, you are a decent dodgetank. Late game, you will unlock a super engage that will destroy enemies. If you want him to kill stuff after chapter 11, you gotta get him into the more offensive classes like Wyvern/Warrior. But I feel Kagetsu and Panette are better there

Casualfag mode, classic with savescum and classic without savescum are all totally different experiences.
They way you're playing, you're allowed to do careless mistakes because you can just restart the game. That's a completely different mentality than a proper ironman run, you HAVE to play perfectly. If you savescum then you're confirming yourself that you can't play with the ironman rules

Qi adept is better.
What I did was use boots on my martial monk (or enchanter) and have them main Lucina.
Another good combo with Lucina is amage canonneer. I wouldnt call it a “meme” like some people would, its definitely good, but its not better than using lucina primarily for bonded shield. If you do this combo Id recommend boucheron as your mage canonner since his passive directly benefits
