The game is a lot of fun, depending who you play with. I’ve had groups who help each other out and succeed, and others who really start to fall apart and isolate as resources start to dwindle later on. I think it’s interesting to see, as someone mentioned in the previous thread.

But waiting to starve to death while you hear the other people going on without you after you’ve been playing together for an hour + can be pretty disheartening.

The game is definitely a unique experience.

Ok, after the fourth time in the row of this happening I can confirm I am not spawning below the map. I am being launched up into space at incredibly high speeds. I had the bright idea to leave and rejoin, since the first time I did that after I died my skeleton T-posed in front of the rest. I have anti rope, I think my current plan will be to place it down in a position and utilize the chain launcher to be able to kite the scoutmaster for the two minutes I need to. I am banking on the fact that he cannot climb anti-ropes, I will be in trouble if he can.

Alright, I got the badge and I think he is gone. He ran off after the lava started rising. My trick worked, he kept following me on the chain which meant if I actually had to get off I would have been fucked. However, in the middle of the chain he kept spinning in place and jumping at me, looks like all you need to be safe is some nice chain placement. I hope this information helps future scouts survive this beast.

Interesting. So many times a scout would fall, but you couldn't find the body in time to rescue them. This compass would help there as well.
But no one is spending one of their 3 item slots to carry a compass.

This kinda leads into the idea of passive upgrades. Items that you sorta attach to your character as an improvement that won't use item slots. Think Spelunky.

Very fun run. I'm really glad I didn't die when I had to reconnect and the game made me reappear in the middle of a fall to the base of the mountain that took almost all my health. Having to climb back all alone with 20% max stamina while taking cold damage from the night was one of the most intense moments I've ever experienced in this game.

The devs already said no to a room code system, so I doubt it. Given they can't even code a fucking random number generator right, or making the game not require a modern GPU to hold 60fps despite its PS2-era visuals, I don't have much faith in them.

Matchmaking isn't necessary. This isn't a game to endlessly grind over like Helldivers 2. Peak is a cozy little game to play with your friends, matchmaking with an endless amount of strangers that you wont ever remember would remove the point.
