Reminder Hollow Knight is trash. Metroid rehash + presentation that looks like 2005 Deviantart and whatever they ripped from Dark Souls. It's all platforming and combat and both the platforming and combat suck with bad physics and extreme repetition

Metroidvanias in general just have awful sense of progress. You should've played one but I never saw the point in turning it into a whole genre.

It's a sold metroidvania from what I have played so far, just at the dream nail stuff, nice artstyle, some good music and stuff like the mantis lords were a fun fight. Not sure about the insane meme hype for silksong but it is certainly a solid game. I hope i find silksong to be as fun when I get around to it.
