I am 100% on board with Team Cherry's vision for this game.
Except the Compass making a return. TC are dumbasses for this shit.

Its ironic because you can see the list of playtesters at the credits screen.

Which is something I always find discouraging because every evidence points to the fact that playtesters are subhuman, so either Team Cherry generally keeps faithful to their vision, or something else.

Another thing i find funny is that I initially thought team cherry was going to make this game easier with all the movement options, and to some degree the platforming, despite more prominent, is ruined by the absolute convenience of the movement options later.

But they actually made the healing animation take longer, compared, to when they first revealed the game, so it seems they atleast were somewhat smart and intentional with their design.

Another curious thing is how they initially intended for hollow knight to start you with 3 hearts, but changed it and sort of kept that principle in Silksong with 5 hearts, 2 hearts of damage taken.

I just find it curious is all.

I dont actually think the game is harder, it just has to be played in a different way. I guess id argue that the only thing kind of off about the healing is that, it no longer really feels like resource management anymore. Not to act like Hollow Knight didnt constantly throw a bunch of fodder enemies at you that virtually existed to feed you soul, but still, if you had like 1 or 2 health in HK, finding a bench was a genuine relief. In this game, I cant remember the last time I made it to a bench with that much health left. I either die before I reach a bench, or make it to the bench more or less with 3 hearts or more.

Not that even the original hollow knight ever did this with any consistency anyway, but its just something to note.
