It's been roughly 50/50 ever since release.
A thing to note is that the majority of people who actually care about the game beyond just being a popular FOTM game back in the day are typically Pricefield shippers. A huge amount of the hate the newest game got and a reason the marketing was coy about certain things was because, if you chose to save and romance Chloe, Chloe wasn't in it and the two broke up.

Chloe unironically did nothing wrong. She was a teenage girl trying to find some kind of emotional anchor after her father died, her best friend ghosted her, and her mother emotionally abandoned her to marry an abusive stepfather - and the person she thought she'd found turned out to be an emotionally manipulative trainwreck using her as a stepping stone in her attempt to escape her OWN shitty life. The moment anyone with an ounce of care for her (Max/The Player) steps back in her life, she actually starts accepting criticism and working to change herself for the better - but /v/ and half the internet absolutely hates her and wants her dead for that, because it's a grim reminder that they could have changed themselves too, if they'd listened to the people who cared about them. And instead they chose to be shitposters.

In Double Exposure. If you choose to let her live, they break up and Chloe ends up traveling around as a band manager of sorts like in the comics. In one of the social media parts of the game she's in New Orleans and invites Victoria to hang. You can interpret it as a flirty invite or not but it does feel flirty.

It's honestly a realistic take on their relationship. Not a lot of people make it through with all that trauma and baggage, that game just wrote them as one of the couples that didn't. Even in Life is Strange 2, they were in a rut, emotionally at least, and were only with each other since they didn't know anything else/any better (Confirmed by one of the game directors).

She'd need a photo of them before that which she doesn't burn but she could've also just went back to the same photo and told her not to get a truck or sell it. Also she was working under the assumption that her time powers would stop again and she'd get trapped and that whatever she did to change an outcome ends in tragedy anyways. It's just poor and convenient writing. She never tried to stretch the limits of her power enough.

Chloe *is* the storm. Or, more accurate to say: Chloe is the reason the storm exists. She's such a rebel, that she defied death itself, just to have a chance to be with her friend for a brief time, and in the process find justice for Rachel Amber. The storm is what the universe threw at her, in order to stop her. And, ultimately, the storm never actually catches her. She either evades it in life, or goes out on her own terms.

>seems pretty malicious and mean spirited.
She literally killed an entire town of innocent people for Chloe. Hundreds of innocent people. Max is a selfish monster for doing that and Chloe's response to that is the most reasonable thing about her. Imagine if one day your future girlfriend said she poisoned an entire town's water supply to keep you alive because some guy was threatening her with an ultimatum of either your death or the town for reasons that make this analogy make sense. You now have to live with the fact that the person you are close to is okay with murdering a bunch of innocent people to be with you and every single one of their deaths is squarely on yours and her back. You have to live with the fact that you know she did this, you can't really tell this to anyone, and she did this for you specifically and if you weren't alive they'd all be alive.

Chloe has very reasonable survivor's guilt and on the scale of what she knew and what Max did it's completely understandable. Max is a sociopath.

NTA, but Chloe literally told Max to choose, because she didn't trust herself to make the decision. So basically, Chloe was too weak to do the right thing and sacrifice herself, unloading the burden onto Max. It wouldn't be fair to then blame Max for making the "wrong" decision by giving you your life.

The tornado already appeared in Max's dreams way before she gets her powers. There's no known cause for it but the game keeps throwing hypotheses at you like chaos theory, the prescotts and that native american totem. We can assume the storm came sooner rather than later with all the time shenanigans or something else entirely. Max and Chloe basically gaslit themselves into believing they were responsible

Chloe ultimately wanted Max to "choose" her death and understood the sacrifice had to be made because of Max constantly deferring from seeing Chloe's death through. Sure, it passed the burden onto Max but Max herself has actively been "choosing" the past however long she's been time traveling at that point to keep Chloe around, and Chloe's not mentally strong enough to just kill herself like that. She's broken from all the revelations by that point and trying to accept reality.

Even if it's deferring it to Max that doesn't change the fact that Max picking the bad end is still an objectively bad and selfish thing since she's killing hundreds of people (Including her other friends) to save one person she cares about. It doesn't change that if she chooses it Chloe's not going to be sitting there wishing she could have died to make sure everyone else was okay.

>The tornado already appeared in Max's dreams way before she gets her powers.
Not so. It appeared in her dreams before she *activated* her powers. She likely had her powers for some time, before the catalyst event made her activate them. Why do I believe that? The butterfly showed up before she used her powers. Who can say how long the butterfly existed before it entered the bathroom? 1 second? 1 minute? 1 hour? 1 day? 1 week? 1 month?

Rachel is the deer for certain. "Jane Doe" is the name given to missing women who can't be identified. Rachel is the missing person. And the Doe shows up when they find Rachel's grave.

Chloe is the butterfly.

I believe the storm really is just the universe cleaning up a temporal mess.

>Chloe ultimately wanted Max to "choose" her death and understood the sacrifice had to be made because of Max constantly deferring from seeing Chloe's death through.
No. Chloe didn't know what to choose. She didn't want death necessarily. She was too conflicted.

>Even if it's deferring it to Max that doesn't change the fact that Max picking the bad end is still an objectively bad and selfish thing
You can think that if you want. I don't think it makes Max a sociopath. I think, that like many normal people, she was overcome with emotion and also dealing with a lot of conflicting emotions like Chloe was. Keep in mind: Max doesn't necessarily need to have romantic feelings for Chloe in the end. That much depends on how the player played the game. So Max's choice isn't necessarily by wanting a romantic partner. It can simply be that she doesn't think Chloe deserves to die.

>She didn't want death necessarily. She was too conflicted.
True, but she understood that for The Greater Good it was necessary and couldn't actually commit to it herself. She was shouting at Max about it being "Our storm" or something like that.
>I think, that like many normal people, she was overcome with emotion and also dealing with a lot of conflicting emotions like Chloe was
I don't deny that she was also acting out of emotion so she's prone to make irrational decisions, but the decision itself is still something she has to intentionally choose, she does get to think it over, and she picks one person over countless other people with families, tragic lives, difficult pasts, etc. You can save Kate for example who is basically in the same mental state as Chloe at that point if you did, and no matter what Max is letting at bare minimum one person die. The difference here is that if Max chooses Chloe then she's intentionally choosing an absurd amount of people to die for, at worst a close friend and at best a lover.
>It can simply be that she doesn't think Chloe deserves to die.
But that's inherently a bad thing because Chloe not deserving to die doesn't change the fact that hundreds of other people (Also her friends) also don't deserve to die. She's picking the one person she's closer to over an absurd amount of people she's either decently close to or at the very least met in passing.

>I thought doe is Max
I thought that too once. But later I realized that those concepts are not mutually exclusive. A spirit guide is not necessarily who the person is. Rather, just the kind of spirit that is guiding the person. The Doe is the guide leading Max to find Rachel. Max can be associated with the Doe, without being the Doe.

Anything blue coded is Chloe's thing. The blue jay is symbolic of freedom. It's old caged bird symbolism. Feelings of oppression and helplessness. The caged bird reflecting Chloe's situation at home. It not necessarily only for Chloe. Because aspects of each person is shared between them. Chloe learns from Rachel, and Rachel learns from Chloe. Chloe learns from Max, and Max learns from Chloe. And through Chloe, Max even learns from Rachel. So the thing about the blue feather, is to show you that Rachel and Chloe do in fact have something in common. That free/caged bird feeling.

Most people don't deserve to die. Yet, they are subject to the injustices of the world. And there's no real guarantee that the Storm is Chloe's fault. Like in the analogy you gave earlier. Some guy was the one who poisoned the water. It wasn't Chloe's fault that he did it. But in the Storm's case, it's even more ambiguous. It might not necessarily want Chloe. It hasn't stated its intentions outright.
Who is Max to say that among all the injustices in the world, that one should befall her friend? It's not a fair choice. And no, she didn't have sufficient time to mull it over.

>It might not necessarily want Chloe. It hasn't stated its intentions outright.
That's what they both ruled it's very likely to be considering all of Max's jumps and constant issues. Sure, it might not since it is admittedly ambiguous, but they both have a fairly solid idea it's likely because of Chloe's survival.

That can only be said, if Max and Chloe are at fault for the storm. Which they don't know. If Max concludes that the storm really is not their fault, then it's not her injustice, it's the universe's.

>but they both have a fairly solid idea it's likely because of Chloe's survival.
True, but they don't KNOW. For all they know, Max goes back in time, Allows Chloe to die, and the storm was actually caused by Rachel Amber, who sends an even BIGGER storm, because she's angry that Chloe died.

>She didn't have a large amount of time but she had enough to think it through considering she did talk it out with Chloe a decent amount.
It's still not enough. There was the kidnapping, and the drugging, saving a bunch of people from the storm, the twisted trip into her own psyche. Only to suddenly wake up at the light house, and have Chloe freaking out, and unloading the burden of choice on her. The Storm barreling down.
