I'm usually against multiple difficulty options at all, let it be easy or hardcore. But, I guess, it's not unreasonable to allow the inclusion of an easy mode.
For as long as playing on easy stands out like a mark of shame. It should be immediately apparent to anyone and everyone, if someone played on easy mode. Watermarks all over the screenshots, subtle differences in character designs, story, like an alternative ending. So that nobody could claim they beat a game on normal, when they in fact only played it on easy mode.

It's not how the media/work is intended to be enjoyed. Silksong is meant to be challenging, if you lose that challenge you wouldn't be enjoying the product fully how the creators intended you to do.

It affects the experience of the people playing on easy and makes it different from mine, and mine different from theirs.

If she beat moorwing, she would acquire a connection with every player of the game that struggled to beat moorwing. Games are unique from story mediums because you aren't just witnesses the same story as others, you are passing the same trials. Sports and games are the only ways to pass the same trials with others and bond with others in that way without significant personal risk, like failing the graduate with your class, or dying in your platoon. If I meet someone that beat the same hard game as me, I know something about them I would otherwise never know if there was an easy mode, they are either capable of experience, competence, or determination. And I learned that this guy's wife can't look up on youtube how to cheese the boss.

I fucking hate fromslop and what it does to games. I got stuck for 4 hours in a game this weekend. Eventually i got good and it didn't feel good. I didn't even feel good about finally being able to continue the game. There is a sane middle point between bosses taking 3-4 retries and being stuck for hours until you learn every single move and practice dodging it perfectly.
