Lies of P still has spacing, rewards you for being aggressive and you can only get criticals if you land a fully charged R2, you aren't forced to stay like a cuck rolling in the dirt for 50 seconds like in lategame ER

If you have to fast travel everywhere, the world is too large to be interesting and the developers should be capable of designing the levels to be interconnected and looping back on themselves.
I agree the game is lineal as fuck but that's also an issue with ER, so much of the open world is fucking worthless dogshit, I forgive it in Lies of P because it's their first game but I do hope they add more gimmicks going forward
