Which part specifically, because the main plot of V is directly tied up in all the Cipher/Major Zero/Patriots nonsense revealed in 4. That's why I will always contend it was the worst reveal in the series, because all the subsequent terrible reveals and retcons in later games are directly connected it, because it trapped all these prequels games into being about that dumb plotline.

He's a deeper character right from the start and is developed further throughout 3 and subsequent games. It makes his changes work better than those dorks who never got anything close to that.
That's without mentioning that revealing anyone as the masterminds behind the Patriots kind of ruins them honestly. And having them just be Big Boss's former pals just makes the world feel so small and unimaginative, in addition to making them feel like less of a deep state metaphor and more of a supervillain team.

By V it feels like he's trying to fix a bad idea, one that I'm convinced he only came up with as a joke. If all the crazy plot lines with Cipher, AI, Parasites and XOF had been set up and touched more on in PW instead of Hot Coldman, if MGSV was actually about Cipher infighting and chaos instead of putting it all on cassette tapes, it might've been good.
