I was worried coming in because I saw so much whining. But then he was just doing basic ram attacks like the little mob version. I figured there was an second phase where he went sicko mode or something, but nope, just basic attacks and little adds that he kills himself anyway. It's combination of janky hitboxes, tiny range, damage sponge enemies, tools dealing no damage, poor Hornet moveset. I'd take a more complex boss who isn't a fucking chore to kill over a boss with 2 moves that feels so shitty. When I beat bosses in Sekiro, the battle was such a blast most of the times I immediately want to replay the fight again. When I beat that fucker my though was "finally done with this shit".

The beyblade area denial mob is the culprit. He has too much hp, does 2 dmg while holding you in place and massive hitbox. Fact that he can randomly spawn and while other mobs are on screen is too much.
Also boss himself is too wonky, randomly deciding to attack from halfscreen or trajectory of the dash being dependent on your position in specific charge up moment, instead of as soon as.

I genuinely don't understand Warding Bell. I'm testing it against the veiled pin duelist outside of Grand Bellway, I'm using it against his jumping spin attack. My shield will break at the beginning and end of my healing animation, and I've tested it against all of his attacks, including attacks that deal 1 damage and 2 damage. The shield breaks no matter what. I also tested it against the short veiled guy next to him that has the tall staff with the bell on it, it always breaks. What gives? Is it just entirely dependant on what enemy is attacking me? This is the most placebo feeling item in the game.

It does prevent the damage, but the fact you still lose your entire silk stock makes it worthless. Baldur Shell in HK you're only spending a portion of your focus gauge at a time, so losing the soul didn't hurt nearly as much.

The reason I'm testing it is I just got the Claw Mirror and I was testing a gimmick build using some combination of Claw Mirror + Multibinder + Injector Band/Warding Bell for healtanking while dealing AOE damage around me, sort of like that mushroom spore charm in HK.

Bunch of enemies have "ready a throw" animation which locks in not at the start or end of it. And have no variation in animation to indicate their aim. Not gonna lie, the marketing got me. The place was called Chapel of the Beast, so I figured the crest was gonna be fucking lit and worth it if this boss was this hard to beat.

It wasn't. Dive kick is terrible, you need to work for your bind to heal. It's just not good compared to the practicality of Hunter or Wanderer.

Does this game have anything like Path of Pain? I've hit a few fun platforming bits in act 2 but nothing that extensive. You've got so many more movement tools and I really want it to give me an excuse to use them.
