You get molder in chapter 2 with c staves and natasha in chapter 5 with d staves, molder is a higher level and none of natash's growths are high enough to make it worth using her over molder.
they do the same thing with artur and lute with artur just having the better class for FE8. I think Lute gets slightly higher magic, but it's not significantly higher and artur gets better staves and slayer so he does more damage and is a lot easier to get a staves with.
Marisa is literally just a lower level josha with worse stats you get like 5 to 7 maps later. Amelia is worse than any of the cavs and they nerfed troubadours so L'Arachel doesn't really do anything that you can't just do with moulder and some combination of artur, saleh and knoll

Three Houses really should have had playable Sothis and Rhea who could transform, and Flayn and Seteth not being able to transform was a lame cop out.

You didn't read the second part clearly. His base growths are worse than everyone bar Vander, and his personal requires specific classes to slightly exceed other units. You also REALLY need to promote him ASAP because he relies very much on doubled growths in a promoted class to actually start pulling away from his competition. His lull period is pretty long and it takes a while for him to outdo his competitors well enough to warrant the effort. I will admit I never went all in on rushing him with Mercurius abuse though.

Skill issue, Ross can get to trainee level 10 the map after he joins. He's actually not too frail to sit on a fort for a turn and enemy phase a couple bandits, and his Tomahawk lets him easily secure last hits.

I believe Legault mentions it in some of his support conversations, that former Black Fang (particularly those like himself and Jaffar) will never be able to live normal lives.

Who would be after them? Well the Black Fang was a secret society that doled out vigilante justice against corrupt elites. Rich and powerful nobles, politicians, merchants, criminal syndicates, etc. They learned the secrets of these people and used that to assassinate and wage war on them in the shadows like Robin Hood combined with The Punisher. They were successful enough at it to draw the attention of an ancient evil wizard who then expanded their operation to also murder those who didn't deserve it, and got them mixed up with lots of brigand gangs and psycho cultist types.

So all that said the answer is A LOT of people would want revenge against Black Fang members. From bounty hunters and personal revenge seekers(Matt for example) to entire aristocratic families. The fear of the Fang cuts both ways, and them being weakened or disbanded is like blood in the water

If you're interested in completionism, there are some extra maps that are unlocked at the end by getting all of the gaiden chapters (and not breaking any of the S weapons). Most of the gaiden chapter requirements are either turn limits, or keep someone alive (or both).
