I got to the Judge last night, he doesn't seem too hard but the runback to him because of that one flying enemy at the first pass you have to go under pisses me off so much. In fact those flying enemies in that area are the worst in the game so far not because they do damage, but because they fly away from you to a place you can't even jump and hit them with the sword every single fucking time.

Just ran out of shards doing boss attempts. I think the game only gives you like 6-7 attempts worth of shards before you are totally drained. So what the fuck is the point of these tools? The teleport mod allows me to retry a boss immediately, it cemented my opinion that backtracking is the worst.
Backtraking breaks immersion and the adrenaline from a boss, thing is you need it to beat them, my mind stays well focused on the patterns and the fun of the moment, while one or two minutes of backtracking makes me fall asleep, putting me in the worst condition for a boss fight.

The first fight is in a massive room with tons of free space to lure the slow mobs it spawns into the Beastfly headbutt. Unless you get preoccupied with *only* dealing damage to the Beastfly, you can't get trapped in the fight. Meanwhile, the lava blobs + collapsing platforms + 2 damage lava in the second fight can leave you with virtually no space to manoeuvre.
The ease of bouncing above flying mobs depends on your crest and the boss in play. Beastfly will likely be lining your vertical position up for a ram attack if you try that in the second fight; it's easier said than done.

I have contact damage. Particularly on erratic flyers or giant bosses where i take 40% of my hp touching their elbow and its no different than being directly hit with their strongest attack.

I feel like im playing a game designed for speedrunners and i just feel like i play the whole game reacting rather than acting if that makes sense.

I switched to wanderer shortly after getting double jump and absolutely tore through everything ever since. Damage is high, you get a lot of silk due to high attack speed, shorter range doesn't matter.
Wanderer is monstrously strong and trivializes many tough encounters like grool - harpoon onto him and just bounce off his head a few times and he's dead.

If you don't give the ancient weapon to the deep docks blacksmith, you can hold on to it to give to the architect instead who will upgrade it into a gun. I didn't get the option to give it to them at first, I had to spend 2 craftmetals on their other stuff before I got the option to give the ancient weapon
