I really like this game, but one thing about it that frustrates me so much, is that it has absolutely no respect for the players time. An example, while avoiding spoilers as much as possible, would be a boss in act 3.

To fight the boss, you have to play a song, watch a cutscene of the song, loading screen, new area, watch hornet lay down for a bit, she gets up. Run through a small area, then the boss, but first, stupid arena trash mobs, then the boss. Now if you die, the game fucking boots you out to the spot where you have to play the song again and repeat the entire process, song cutscene, watch hornet laying cutscene, run to arena, fight useless trash mobs. The crazy part is, they intentionally made it that when you die to this boss, they don't send you to a bench and instead teleport you right next to the bug you have to play the song for. So if they are going out of their way to do that, why not just have the player respawn at the arena? Perfect example of wasting the players time.

The last judge corpse run is an easy one that most people know about as well since its early on Horrid bench placement for a boss in which the difficulty cranks up a bit. I can think of so many situations of stupid little things like this that just waste time, but my post would become an essay.

Its a great game, but situations like these are so frustrating. Challenge is good, time wasting tedium is NOT good.

NTA, I'm in act 2 and the game is tedious with how much open, empty space it keeps throwing at you. And how much fucking running around you have to do if you want to get back to the bug bus to ride to another stop only to keep hiking to a spot you placed a marker at earlier to see if your new double jump can get you up to that area only to discover there are some rosaries up there or something. I actually really like the combat and bosses. On that front the game is great. But the traversal sucks.
