thats not an inherently bad thing
stygian sucks for a first playthrough
a fundamental coolness and important life lesson in Darkest is dealing with loss. You have that large setback that initially feels horrible and huge, but then you face it, and shortly after you realise it wasnt that big of a deal and you get surprised with how quickly you got over it. Sometimes you are in a shitty spot where you cant even think of a run or character selection that actually feels appealing or productive to you, but what really matters is that you do something and progress a bit no matter what. You dont have this with stygian, only the inverse
If i didnt have this with Darkest Dungeon, i unironically probably wouldnt have gotten rich.
