Actually, it seems the game favors running away than combat since you get no EXP or resources for defeating enemies. It seems the only thin you really have to kill is the bosses. The best strat is to run and find resources and save up of healing items so you can enshrine them later to level up or gain charms with buffs on them.

One problem I see with this combat, at least when she's fighting what I assume are regular enemies, is that they are far too intelligent. Same feel would sometimes pop up in SH2make aswell.
SH monsters are reckless, they rush you down, or lumber towards you, and you are expected to deal with them before they corner you. Some monsters may try escaping after a beat-down, only to come back later and pester you again. I think only monsters smart enough to do something for self-preservation intelligently were cultist guys in SH3, because duh, they are humans.

I think they did a bad job animating this. They did not want to go for the classic jittery doll movements and I can see what they were going for, but they forgot that in order to make something like this look good you need to nail the sense of weight and balance. It looks almost cartoonish. All the stops don't help but the animation itself is flawed.
