It's simple really, the more genres you enjoy and the higher your skill level the higher chance of having a game you enjoy release. People who play for stories and vibes and atmosphere and other such nonsense don't really like games, and they don't really like good stories either. It's just slop. Aesthetics in games are found in their gameplay, the impact they have on us is through gameplay, and story is divorced from that. There's no reason someone who enjoys video games wouldn't be able to enjoy a wide variety of genres.
