I did. I thought it was a very competent castlevania style game, with a nice setting. I wish the map was a bit more looping and interconnected, IMO it felt more like a hub with each area being a branch off the hub, but I enjoyed it. I think they're a bit different? For Mirror(if I'm remembering correctly) the bejeweled is a 1v1 battle vs a monster girl, who moves at the same time you do. She casts attacks/debuffs etc that make the game harder because if she kills you then it's game over. You need to extend your life by matching heals while simultaneously killing her and dealing with the aids she spreads on the board. It's alot more intense than Candy crush but you might be right maybe it's not as "hard" though I've never beaten the full challenge gauntlet after around 80h.

Combat and a sense of exploration though it is an acquired taste.

Unfortunately the combat in these games usually isn't deep enough for me to stay engaged.

I'm not a fan of platforming and 2D in particular feels very "gamey" which isn't bad in of itself, I like it in Super Meat Boy, but it also means I don't get a sense of place or immersion when it comes to exploring rooms with platforms strewn about seemingly at random.

Lara Croft is really good at taking care of her horse

Man its really a crime that being associated with Ubisoft has utterly killed Pop Lost crown. It was genuinely one of the most fun not even metroidvanias but games ive ever played. The map is gigantic, its filled with loot and fun stuff to find, there's real genuinely challenging platforming sections and bossfights that feel like [your favorite anime] with a coat of persian aesthetics on top. And what ties all of that together is the sheer fucking absurdity of the combat system, how you can juggle enemies in the air for hours and do dozen+ input combos to turn them into ragdolls. Its fun as fuck

But it needs the fucking ubislop launcher and the entire team that created this amazing masterpiece got sacked because the game didnt sell 10 squillion so fuck it, just pirate it you guys.

There are a number of 3D metroidvanias by definition, even some you wouldn't think of. I'd go so far as to say Overlord and Arkham Asylum are essentially metroidvanias. Big interconnected maps that have backtracking to areas unlocked when you get new weapons/powerups.

They're not supposed to, that's a trap specifically made to stop cavalry charges and render the horse lame. You don't even need to make it that deep, regular 2x2s work if they're concealed well enough, you just need to get the horse to walk over the grid and slip from the unevenness.
