Weavelight makes silk regen much faster. For act 2 you basically always have 3 silk points if you get the silk heart early. 4 silk point is the cost of using a silk skill. After you get it, Wanderer can easily do two quick slashes and follow-up with a cast of silk spear to take out most enemies fast. I pair it with druid so that I will always have enough silk to heal if I get hit. Two silk points after two hits is very handy.

What I did is run the route between Grand Bellway and the first shrine to grind rosaries at the same time.

The flea minigames are pretty fun, even setting aside the Pale Oil. The Dodge one in particular might be useful for training your reflexes for all the different trajectories boss attacks can come from, and how you can adapt to them (e.g. pogo'ing off the big flea and then gliding until the platforms return).

They weren't "thrown in" at all. The eggs were deposited in the abyss so the unborn bugs could be hollowed out by the void, then PK just waited at the top for one he deemed "pure" by whatever criteria he used to decide that then sealed the place shut. Nah, as much as I like it, act 3 is too fanservicey and feels too rushed. I get the vibe that they mostly slapped act 3 together out of unused stuff from the rest of the game. The coral area was clearly going to be a bigger thing at one point, Carmelita had also existed since early in development and is just kind of there, and Verdania's art style very closely resembles some stuff from the later development of HK, like the spot where you get Isma's Tear.

If my hunch is correct (based on art style), Choral Chambers, Bone Bottom, the Marrow, Blasted Steps, and maybe Deep Docks were the first areas made for Silksong. I think parts of these (at least in concept) date back to when it was a DLC. I agree with some other anons here in thinking they essentially made Act 1 to support Act 2. I would add that I think they made the true ending early on, but then stuffed Act 3 in between relatively soon (0-2 years) before release because they realized superfans would want the game to link more to the first game.

Man, I thought that I finally got good at this game and managed to beat a lot first try and most only with a few tries in act 3 and then Lost Lace happened. Took me fucking two hours, and in the end I feel like I cheesed the fight.
Weavelight, Volt Filament and Pale Nails with Wanderer did it in the end.

They never played the original hollow knight so to them wanderer is casual when it's just the basic moveset from the first game. Architect is the most broken crest in the game and hunter actually becomes pretty damn good after you upgrade it twice. Then you have reaper just letting you get tons of free heals. Wanderer is middle of the pack for crests it's nowhere near easy mode and most new players have to put long claw on it just to make it usable for them

I've only found 3 Crests (Reaper, Wanderer, and Beast) and I've already made it to the top of the Citadel, got double jump, etc.

First time checking out online since the game released, were people really whining THAT much about the difficulty? I mean it was harder than HK but come on. I first tried the conductor arena room, first sinner, and mother silk without using either tools or skills (had a parry but by chance never used it in the fight and just kinda won without trying). And I'm not some speedrunner or anything, didn't even play HK for a second time, so it can't be that hard. I had an awful time with the Bilewater arena+boss though, never quite figured out how to properly fight it and ended up winning kinda by luck and just playing cautious instead of all-out.

I'm about to go check out the memory stuff in Act 3 though, so maybe it gets tougher, but apparently people were whining day 1 about early game shit. Anyone has a quick rundown on what the complaints were?

If I kill Last Judge do I automatically move on to Act 2? I'm not quite the whole way through what I assume is the alternative route in Bilewater. I was going to go through the Mists next but I'm not sure what the gimmick is yet. Do I go through the mist and what ever the next area now or just kill Judge and move on?

Act 1 has been an extraordinary experience.

It's not even about vibes. Silksong is just like 3 times harder than everything outside of very late endgame stuff in hollow knight so the dramatic shift in difficulty hit people like a bus. 1.kill Last Judge
2.go through the mist and kill the boss there
Both will give you a little cutscene right after and you'll enter act 2
Whatever you chose you won't be locked out of the other, you can come back later no problem

The overall world design feels less thought out than Hollow Knight's.
I get the feeling that a lot of things were moved about throughout development with not as much thought as to how logical it all is.
Like you have Greymoor which really looks like it should be on the surface but it isn't and somehow Wisp Thicket and the Cauldron in the Underworks are above it and yet it's raining in Greymoor and there's nowhere for all that water to have come from and similarly there's no way for all that Lava to get up from the Deep Docks.
There's none of that "oh that's why" like there is when you realize that the Blue Lake is why the City of Tears is always raining.

Only the Citadel really fits together nicely.

Try to deal with the top ones first since the rate of fire spawn goes up as you take them out and you can hit the lower ones from the ground. Magma Bell also helps if you can't stop getting hit.

Wandered + Long Nail if you've got it for easy pogoing and rapid hits, plus Magma Bell for damage resist. I also ran the Silk Reserve one for the free heal, since you can't generate silk in this fight. Then just pogo and jump/dash between the top pair until they're dead, then work on the bottom ones.
