It definitely takes place after Federation Force, however aren't the Space Pirates totally FUBAR after the events of Super? Ridley is permadead. Maybe it's a splinter faction.
Another explanation is that the X in 20X7 or 20X9 isn't just a number but some kind of different record keeping that takes into account local time distortions etc. They really need to hammer out exactly how old Samus is and exactly the years these games take place, the timeline is screwed right now.

Pretty sure that was a mistranslation on Metroid Database's part. I believe Sakamoto originally said that she still had the Metroid DNA and absorbing the SA-X just made her Metroid DNA go dormant. You can even tell this since the only thing about her suit that changes at the end of the game is its color, nothing else. Only thing Dread retcon is the Fed crap because it was so bad in Other M, they had to drop it for something far better.

They are not, she still has the same visor and helmet shape from Fusion, she still has the Metroid nuclei symbol on the back of her Power Suit. Her Power Suit in Dread looks nothing like the Power Suit shown in Dread's intro during the Fusion flashback.

This is usually how they also place things in the timeline within the gaps. Metroid Prime Hunter devs talked about this story bible. Anything that usually get revealed may have been in the plans years back, such as Chozo Soldiers who have concept art from way back in 2004 for Zero Mission.

Fusion Samus still exists going by the Japanese site where Samus narrates Dread's entire intro, but Other M Samus may have been erased at least in personality. Other M Samus doesn't feel like she fits in anywhere.

The problem with giving campaigns to the other Hunters is that they're *not* Samus i.e. you'd have to really expand their arsenal to make them actually fun
